I doubt anyone will respond to this post, but how is this chant any different than a group of people painting an old truck crimson red and drawing Alabama all over it and writing Nick Saban on it...

Then proceeding to tear it apart and beat it with a baseball bat?

Although an effigy-like symbol, a truck is an inanimate object without sensory capabilities. The symbolism may be offensive, but only to those who actively engage their perception (place themselves in the specific location and pay attention) and then allow themselves to emotionally cleave to an inanimate object rather than higher meaning it may symbolize (not an uncommon human response, sadly, but not a fully mature one, either).

A group of people vocally emoting obscene postulations in a public setting have no reasonable expectation that other people can not or will not hear their vulgar utterances or that their 'communication' will be met with agreement.

That's not televised and if it was it wouldn't draw complaints to the FCC.

I don’t know why people are missing the point on why student did the chant and how shocked they were. This chant started since 2008 when Saban called the Louisiana people a ditch digger, talk funny Coon-arse. He should remember he was once a hill-billy from West Virginia. He is the most hated coach in America. Thanks for an OK past but he is now our enemy. We don’t owe him anything. He designs his team with Louisiana recruits to beat LSU. Quite apologizing, he earned the chant. For our pussy AD, he should request an apology from Alabama for playing their rammer jammer shite after the game if he wants it to be fair and sportsmanlike.
