But it wasn't. That was just a stall tactic.
Yes it was.

And the SEC and Aleva let it work in UF's favor.
He didn't "let" it work in Florida's favor. It was going to work in Florida's favor regardless of Alleva. We were ready and had a back up plan in place. Florida knew this.

Florida used the excuse that the players want to be with their families. This was one of the many excuses Florida used for not being able to delay the game to Saturday night or Sunday. This was also being used as to why they couldn't relocate the game to Baton Rouge. What else could Alleva have done to remedy this?

"LSU is sending planes and busses for UF players, staff and family. We have housing accommodations arranged for them and all proceeds of this game will be given to the hurricane relief fund. We will do everything in our power to make them feel as home as possible. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with the state of Florida right now"

Make that statement on every news network nationwide that will listen on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and then watch Florida try to squirm their way out.

This would have made us look great. But I don't think it would have helped any with getting the game here. They made it very clear it was not an option. They basically said publicly thanks, but no thanks. There is a lot of the national media who believe the game should not have been moved. You also had Florida using the excuse the entire time that people didn't want to leave the supposed dire situation to play a football game. I do think we would have looked great for being so accommodating, though. Not a bad idea.

They used a natural disaster to collect insurance money.

So you're saying Florida committed insurance fraud?

If I'm their insurer, I'm refusing to pay, subpoenaing Joe Alleva to testify if Florida sues.

I'd also be pressing for criminal charges against Foley, if in fact they cancelled a playable football game in part to collect insurance money.

This one I can't really blame him for. Foley has been in the SEC how long? Other than Bama I don't think any AD in the SEC has more clout than Foley.

Foley retires in two weeks. Lame duck AD.
