He was such a good AD that got ran out of town. He hired Orgeron, wade, and let Burrow transfer here. Not sure why he was hated so much.

He "let" Joey Burrow transfer here? Pretty sure the deciding factor for Joe wasn't "well, they have a great AD, so where do I sign?". 
His decisiveness in going to Ed once the Herman talks fell apart is appreciated. Good on him for making the (obviously) right call, as opposed to reopening the search and continuing to look elsewhere.

Believe me, he absolutely needed to go, he was a horrible PR disaster for us, but it did cross my mind last night.
