Im not incinuating we throw it 100 times.
Im saying its hard to run the football with 8-9 guys stacking los.
Going to have to spread them out a bit. LSU's offensive braintrusts will have to do something different than what you saw vs UT.

THIS!
Well, we are in trouble then. No one is going to run on Bama without a very balanced attack. We will have to throw it downfield, pick up the blitzes and we will have to complete about 60% and no more than 1 int.
Bama is that good against the run.
We will beat them, DP in the seam and RS or OBJ stepping up with a game breaker will be the ticket.
I think RS is the only threat we have to the edge, maybe Ford...but damn they are disciplined and strong.

Your post said JJ is better, but you can;t bring up stats.
Which QB do you think poses a bigger problem for opposing DC's?
All I heard was how JL's passing ability would open up the running game. Well that hasn't happened teams still stack the box daring LSU to beat them with the pass. Guess all the JL supporters didn't know what the f_ck they were talking about

Yes I do but JL is the starter not JJ.
ok, so the starter has to come back in after being subbed for and make a play on more than one 3rd and longs.
Good to know... glad he delivers.

We were struggling rushing between the tackles because of the loss of Longeran (averaging only 2.6 ypc in the first half). Jefferson came in and allowed us to soften up Tennessee's front seven.
So once again, you attribute this to Jefferson, not time of possesion or any other metric that would have effected changes in rushing statisticss.

You really are fricking stupid, seriously.
back at you, you blithering moron. i can only read what you write, and based off your usually lacking word choice and explanation, I can only surmise that you post on TD so much because of your failure as a lawyer.

we don't normally do it at the rate which we did against Tennessee.
But we had JJ run in other games to, how do you account for those differences?
Look, you like JJ, that's swell. No one cares. JL should be the starter and get most of the reps if we are to beat bama.

You really are such a pathetic loser

I don't even know why I waste the time arguing with you.
Arguing? selectively picking stats so you can claim how great a running QB softens up a defense for the pass?
It's stupid and you don't even see it...that's how blind you are.

We will have trouble running the ball against Bama no matter who is at QB. Therefore, it will be imperative to establish the passing game. JJ was not, is not, and never will be a credible, consistent passing threat.
And before any "yeah, buts," JJ's keeper read option run will fail miserably against Bama.
I'm not agreeing with the OP, but we racked up 225 yards of rush offense against them last year, on 45 carries (so 5.0 ypc). Jefferson was a big part of that.

I have made nothing up. You are a fail. I hope your hate for JJ eats you alive if he makes a big play against Bama.

Objectively speaking, honest question, which one starting do you think makes LSU a better team?
Lee
My entire point in this thread is two fold:
1) History shows that to beat Alabama a team must have an effective run game.
2) LSU's run game is more effective when Jefferson is at QB because the front seven has to account for two rushers in the backfield.
Thus, while Jefferson's play will not be "the" key to beating Alabama, his ability to increase our rushing effectiveness can pay dividends against Alabama.
Nothing more, nothing less.
But the way some posters on here react every time you point out facts about our team, you'd think I was asking if Jefferson could take their daughter's virginity.

and how many deep balls have we completed this year?
Thanks for playing....

That have to respect the pass vs JL and he had a great play action
Sure his throwing motion may be a little unorthodox but it works. And thats evident by his numbers from this season

A Bama defense will be overwhelming for JL or JJ, that's why it is a blessing that we have both.
makes no sense...

Since when is bama's base D a 8 man front?
They pretty much run an 8 man front on all non-obvious passing downs.
I take it you haven't watched them play this year.

I don;t hate JJ. I hope him the best because the tigers win...
You keep making strawman arguments. JL is the better passer, the OP was a bad post. Sorry if that makes you butthurt.

JL has done very well with the pass... have you not been watching the games? You cant blame JL for upstairs calling the same dam running play over and over.... I mean we have beat the hell out of everybody we played.. How could you possibly still be down on JL??

The OP was about JJ's passing ability. Keep crawfishing though....it's funny (considering your non-bias)

Quit trying to pick an argument with me over 2 average QB's because I can care less who is the starter, who does better, all I want is a W. I said it is a blessing to have both QB's. Read my earlier post.

I am an LSU fan. I do not only pull for one QB to play well b/c "he is my guy".

What has JJ done this year for you to insinuate he is not a good passer? I'm waiting.
