But someone (Les? Alleva? TAF? Lombardi?) has taken that option away for this year, so if a new QB represents the best for us long term, then so be it...option 3-standing pat, is my least favorite. And one of our experienced QB showing significant improvement is 1A, but I am lacking confidence we will see that without a change at OC/QB coach, based on two full years of data (3 if you consider I think GC had very little to do with Flynn's capabilities in 2007)

Flynn was a senior when he was a full time starter...he had enough practices to be "good" and win NC for us. Garret is a freshman....

ETA: If Flynn was to start for the 2009 OL...he would received the same amount of bashing from negatigers

This no longer applies FWIW.

If JJ doesn't come out swinging this fall, then all of the JJ fanatics that have been all over him since prior to signing will have some 'splaining to do.

The OL this past year blew.

But a LOT of his sacks were caused by him leaving the protection of the OL by thinking the "pocket" was 7-10 yards behind the line.

I cannot believe someone would put Sam Bradford and JJ in the same boat when it comes to Accuracy...That is so INSANE!!!

Show me where I questioned JJ's academic process?...

Why pointing out JJ's shortcomings always evolves into the JJ apologists pointing out JL's shortcomings is a mystery to me. I don't remember any of this when JL was getting hammered on this board in 2008. Since we went there, I also remember that young man standing up and facing the press and his detractors time after time throughout 2008, while JJ seemingly was always MIA after one of his sackfests or groundball events. This, and other observations on gamedays leave me questioning his leadership (not unique on a team that seemed to be missing leaders last year). Both QB's seem to have the brook trout thing going on when they're out there.

I don't think either have the talent to match the rest of the team, especially our other skill players, and if your QB is the weak link, it's never a good thing.

Righttttttttt

I'm not interested in going into the SEC wars or starting the season for the 3rd time in a row with a green QB. If that makes me one of the " JJ fanatics" in your mind, so be it.

In my mind it makes me semi-knowledgeable bout what happens more times than not to teams playing in the SEC with inexperienced/short time in the program QBs leading their teams.

Who said anything about switching him out?

I just said that excuse no longer applies.

JJ 2008: 49.3%
2009: 61.5%
= improvement (FACTS)

vs
so in three more games started and played jj had 300 more yrds passing and 4 more tds than JL

logic says with a better running game you run the ball more correct? '
worse running game you run the ball less and pass more correct?

look im not making this a JL/JJ debate.. both IMO are mediocre and if significant improvement at the qb postion is not made QUICK, we are looking at another 3-4-5 place finish in the sec.
thats a fact.
Saying QB is THE weak link and totally ignoring the amount of time our o-line was laying on their fricking backs just proves that you're a JJ hating hack.

most rantards on here wants Garret to be the starting QB. I think if JJ is 10-2 or 10-3 next season then I'm happy since we have a bad arse OOS...anything less =

O-Line wasnt as big a problem as the QB position was... They gave the QB plenty of time to throw the ball...you can say it was play calling but play calling was based upon the QB's ability, or lack there of. Hard to run an offense when the QB cant get rid of the ball and when he does its not very accurate...3/4 of those sacks were his fault...Hope he gets better for LSU's sake..

Funny thing is I don't remember you being around and constantly bashing the frick out of Lee when he was just flat out horrible. Why is that?

football is a team sport, you cant blame everything on one player. JJ is will an experience QB this year. Crowton needs to improve his playbook. The young OL needs to improve, most will be SR and JR this year......and your "facts" are worth shiet
