No it's not. No matter what you say in an attempt to support your opinions (and you may end up being right or close to it), this is just a prediction. THIS season (2010) is almost 6 months away, which means nothing's happened yet. You do understand that, right? So, no "facts" yet.

once again jon.. set the kool aid down my friend.
common sense and facts are often one in the same.

Can't stand what, idiot boy? I didn't invent the stereotype, or those subtle terms like "athleticism."

Alright. 7% is actually a huge difference in completion percentage. Second of all, a good run game will take pressure off the quarterback, but more importantly will open up the play action pass game, which can lead to some huge pass plays (when the safeties bite up, which in college, they tend to do). I am not a big fan of JJ, but I want to see him actually open it up and not be gun shy. He has to understand that sometimes, its just going to be picked. The passing windows in the SEC are minuscule, and sometimes you have to put on your Brett Favre hat and hum it in there.

Hey, Doc. Didn't know if you saw my apology on that Spring Game thread from yesterday. It's:

and didnt really watch last year games if think jj is head and shoulders above jl
i watched lee against la. tech who was missing 2 cornerbacks and 1/2 their D due to injury. That told me all i needed to know

so in three more games started and played jj had 300 more yrds passing and 4 more tds than JL
logic says with a better running game you run the ball more correct? '
worse running game you run the ball less and pass more correct?
look im not making this a JL/JJ debate.. both IMO are mediocre and if significant improvement at the qb postion is not made QUICK, we are looking at another 3-4-5 place finish in the sec.
thats a fact.
how can you turn a prediction into fact? it's like saying "the world will ends in 2012"

:kige:
Why pointing out JJ's shortcomings always evolves into the JJ apologists pointing out JL's shortcomings is a mystery to me. I don't remember any of this when JL was getting hammered on this board in 2008. Since we went there, I also remember that young man standing up and facing the press and his detractors time after time throughout 2008, while JJ seemingly was always MIA after one of his sackfests or groundball events. This, and other observations on gamedays leave me questioning his leadership (not unique on a team that seemed to be missing leaders last year). Both QB's seem to have the brook trout thing going on when they're out there.
I don't think either have the talent to match the rest of the team, especially our other skill players, and if your QB is the weak link, it's never a good thing.

Miles should make Garret the starter
Show me where I said that? What I agreed we need is:
quote:
significant improvement at the qb postion
Several posters have said that the competition at this position (really all the positions) should be wide open in the Spring and we should play the best, no matter age, number of games played, etc. The significant improvement could be one of the two guys that had the keys and wrecked the car the past two years, we just have to have significant improvements, that we never saw throughout two entire seasons (with different QBs), or we will not compete for the big prizes.
I would hate to "start over" with Garrett, but if he is equal or better in the Spring, and has more upside long-term, then maybe we have to take another year of lumps to ensure our return to the Dome in 2011 (2012). Look at the silver lining of that scenario-another year reduces Crowton's buyout to a manageable level.

option 1: new QB
2: new OC
which one do you want?

I pick:
But someone (Les? Alleva? TAF? Lombardi?) has taken that option away for this year, so if a new QB represents the best for us long term, then so be it...option 3-standing pat, is my least favorite. And one of our experienced QB showing significant improvement is 1A, but I am lacking confidence we will see that without a change at OC/QB coach, based on two full years of data (3 if you consider I think GC had very little to do with Flynn's capabilities in 2007)
