Well I think no one knew what to expect from Crowton his first year. He throws all of these crazy formations at you confusing the defense and the coaches. By the third year, the formations start telling the defense what play is going to be run - and I seriously think when his offense is not working, he panics and starts calling really bizarre plays to try to catch the defense off guard, like running the wildcat with Holliday running to the short side of the field, or a screen pass to the middle of the field with 40 seconds left and no timeouts.

this. Crowton usually do well during his 1st year tenure....after that

I imagine there was some deflation with the injuries on O.

Coach said, "You look across, tell em your gonna run it, then out-execute them. That's when you you've got em. You're inside their helmets then."

Later, time for some

50% Crowton- doesn't have confidence in his QP
25% OL- I thought did ok job. Many times gave JJ enough time to throw. But some times not
25% JJ- doesn't know how move in the pocket and no presence for his blind side. I know know he did step up 1 time against Penn St and hit TT. 1 for 1000 isn't bad.

thats where the ball has to go sometimes....JJ is terrified to do it...everything in balance, inside, outside, run pass play action...called football dude...cant throw 10 yard hitches all day long, its too conservative and limits the run game...JJ hampered the run game bc the D could put all 11 inside 15 yards bc no one respected his ability to attack the middle or throw downfield...they took that chance and it paid off for many teams. The games we won we out athleted people...you have to have a QB who can throw, otherwise Walter Payton and an ALL-Pro line couldnt run against SEC defenses...your going against more men then you have...

Then how in the world did Alabama win a NC with 58 yards passing. They didn't have a world beater at that position. Teams knew the run was coming and they still got it done. That argument sounds like an excuse to solely blame all woes on the QB.
