These 2 are far from consistently good programs. Especially NC. They have 1 top 15 finish in 5 years.

It's what's ahead for both of them. Fedora has put UNC on the right track, and Petrino is going to have Louisville like it was when he first got there (and the previous stint with Strong). Plus add Richt to Miami, and Fuente at VA Tech, and you have the next best conference within 2 years.

If not Herman I say Mike Gundy at Ok St.

Gundy has did a great job at that school.

95-47 overall record there. Not an easy place to win at with all the schools around you.

since 2010 though his record is 59-20. with 4 10 win seasons.

This is a bunch of ifs. As of now there are 2 programs with consistent success.
Richt wont do anything at Miami until they start pumping money into the program.

If Mike Gundy doesn't work out maybe we can try Oklahoma State's next coach. 3rd time is the charm.

I really don't understand the love for Gundy. His best years were with Holgorsen running the offense, pretty meh besides that.

I'd say 2011 was his best year and Dana was at West Virginia.

Its not about understanding. Our qbs are asked to do things they have never been asked to do.

True but at that point they were still running Holgorsens offense with much of the same players.

He hasn't replicated that success since.

With that great offense of Holgerson's last 4 years at West Virginia he is

7-6
4-8
7-6
8-5

Gundy has been

9-4
9-4
11-2
12-1
8-5
10-3
7-6
10-3

It's an absolute fact that Gundy's best teams were running Holgorsens offense.

Whether Holgorsen is a good HC has nothing to do with it.

Really? Gundy hasn't replicated that success without that offense. Not sure why you're so perturbed by that.

I never said you were incorrect. I said Gundy could win without Holgerson offense and he has.

They went 13-1 the year after Holgerson left.

They have won 10 games twice in the last 4 years without Holgerson. Not sure why that perturbs you.

They did that running Holgorsens offense with basically the same skill players from the season before.

Not sure why you're arguing this point.

Great he won 10 games in the Big 12 and failed to win the conference. Sign him up!
