memory doesn't serve me well. did Crowton shift the line and roll out the QB a lot this season?

When asked to assess his game's strengths and weaknesses Monday, Jefferson cited his fear of interceptions. While his ball control instincts are sound, he said he must balance them with a team's need for its quarterback to make plays.

"It has," he replied when asked if his tendency boosted the sack total. "Some of the sacks were errors that the line had, but I take responsibility for them."

IMO one of the biggest things JJ needs to overcome. After the Int meltdowns last year can't blame him or the staff for being cautious but at some point the QB has to have faith in himself and his teammates to make plays.

When LSU beat UGA Scott ran the ball because JJ wanted to run instead of throw because he was scared. He needs to get his mind right or his hands don't belong under T-Bob's T-Bob

You're 'just saying' the truth. Some of the rediculous expectations Tiger fans had pre-season were fueled by their disregard for the importance of maturity and experience. youth and inexperience at center, guard and qb led to some rather dubious...yet, predictable results.

Exactly - Favre seems to have the shortest INT memory is the history of football. He's like the "10-second Tom" of football.

I agree. I also think JJ needs quality coaching at the quarterback position. JJ seems to have the tools and ability, he just needs to be developed. The addition of Gonzales may make a world of difference, then we will be able to gauge JJ as a quarterback. Im optimistic and believe we LSU will have solid play on both sides of the ball. Then at the end of the season Gonzales will take over as O.C. and JJ will be looking like THE stud quarterback in the SEC.

Jesus tap-dancing Christ!!! Now we expect JJ to have the mind-set of an 18 year NFL hall of famer? Are you people retarded?

Just curious. How many Rantards were ever a starting SEC quarterback?

I'll hangup and listen.

as a sophomore in college, was Favre a DB or a QB? Because he was recruited as a DB (btw, I know he was a QB by this point in his career)

so what's the general consensus? does JJ need to grow a sac or grow a brain?

He just needs better coaching. He is only doing what he is coached to do: not turn the ball over. He just needs guidance. He's been told that interceptions are the worst thing possible and do everything to avoid them, so he has. He needs to be coached that it is okay to take some risk, and that the occasional INT is not the end of the world.

Sorry, I'll pick the 18-year-old third string QB at West Central Montana State Tech as an example because everybody will get the analogy better.

Favre has done it FOREVER - he's been a pick machine his whole career, including college.

How about quit sulking on the ground after he gets hit hard.

I've only seen that a few times and it looks more like he's been dazed.

Add, "can take big time shot repeatedly" to the list of things rantards can do.

I probably can't catch a bullet thrown from JaMarcus either, but I know that to be a good receiver in college football you need to be able to do that.

Mike Tyson could probably knock me out cold in one punch (especially in his prime), but that doesn't mean I don't know that a professional boxer needs to be able to take a few of those to compete.

JL was the world's worst about that. After he threw an int. he would make absolutely no effort to try to pursue and tackle the interceptor

Neither would anyone else on the O last year.
