I agree with you tigerbait. I was just trying to argue the point in which the people in here say miles doesn't have decipline. Well if it's tradition for them to go and have a drink then it't not miles fault. They took it upon themselves to get involved in the fight. You have to know when to say, ok maybe we should get out of here before this gets out of hand.

Jefferson was beginning his senior season. It was professed by him and Les that its his team, he is the leader. He let his team, coaches and university down that were counting on him. I don’t feel sorry for JJ one bit. A true leader especially at a high profile school, would not pull such a stunt. He could have stood up as a leader and said no to breaking curfew. Those involved must be held accountable no matter if they are found guilty of lesser charges.
Les can send a strong message from a damn strong coach- this behavior will not be tolerated- regardless if its your first offense or not. Les cannot afford to lose this team and he did the correct thing. You cannot let the inmates run the asylum.
This could have been a special season for Jefferson and this team. It potentially can still be a special season for the team. If I didn’t kick him off the team, I would reduce him to the practice squad, he could not dress for games home or away, and could not be on the sideline and watch any post season play from the stands or on TV.
Les should keep Jefferson & Johns away from the team as long as its remains un-resolved. They will be nothing more than a distraction. The team and program is larger than the individuals. FIDO—Forget It Drive On!

There's a bar fight every night in Baton Rouge. I've been in 'em and so have you.

Bellon I knew what you were saying and my comment was not directed at you. It's others around town that seem to be so perfect. (like LSUFAN2 for example)

Don't argue with these losers.
This isnt Coach Miles' fault.
Just a bad mistake, they are quick to judge JJ as the worst person on earth when in reality its just a young man that made a mistake that will change his life forever.
No one gives a shite if they dont forgive him ..I do.
I never thought he was a great QB, but he's still an LSU football players and I support him.
Had people been waiting for me outside a bar and I had the guy down I'd still be kicking him. frick him, you ask for trouble you better be ready to handle it.
Coach Miles did nothing wrong here, he hasnt lost the team and he doesnt give 2 shits what these internet loser think about him...
Welcome to the Rant....Cheers friend.

Well, I hope you had fun in college sitting in your apartment on Nicholson all day smoking pot and being anti-social while the rest of us were out being KIDS and doing stupid, stupid fricking things. AT least tell me you've SEEN a bar fight? Because they happen all the damn time in college towns. It's a fact...happens as regularly as anything. Mix immaturity with booze and you'll get unpredictable results...and there's no set zenith as to how stupid they'll get. No limits with college kids and booze.

It is a normal thing -- bar fights. The injuries sustained are not typical, but they happen, too. For you to think there's not a barfight in Baton Rouge every single night shows your naive view on things...not mine. This isn't about morality or even expectations for behavior. This is reality. Welcome to the fold.
Don't jump to the conclusion that I even have a viewpoint. You took the one sentence that has little to do with my entire post (which was about being ok without JJ) and now you think I have an agenda. Again...facts. Bar fights in college towns with drunk college kids happen. If you attended Fred's or Bogie's or Dublin's or as far back as Sport's from the mid 90's to recently, you would know that there are fights and/or STUPID moments at these places night in and night out. I think I saw at least 100 fights in my 4 years as a student at LSU. I often left bars before they closed and likely missed another 100. If you want to debate that college students fighting due to alcohol and defense walls put up all around them is atypical behavior, meet me on the Psychology Board just under the Music Board and right above the Arena Football board. To your left. No, your other left. Not every patron fights, but there are always going to be bar fights.

I'll add more.
What sucks about this is that it's not a Terrell Pryor, Cam Newton, or Reggie Bush-like situation. We're not losing our qb due to what some idiotic boosters or professors did to indirectly cause harm to the program. This is a result of a boneheaded patch of kids who used instinct over reason. Jordan Jefferson is obviously not a smart individual or paid little to no attention to all of those people in various places speaking above a whisper to him, "Jordan, you are gonna be a target in the Baton Rouge area for good and bad reasons. Everyone is going to know you. Some people are going to want to watch you fall and they're gonna hope they can set the trap and you try to take the bait. You're a big man on campus and with that comes fun, good, danger, and bad. You are going to have to trust me on this. Keep your mind right and remember who you are and why you're here and who you represent." Jefferson made a minor league dumb decision by being at Shady's to begin with. He made a major league dumber decision to get involved in a fight. He's weeks from Dallas, TX and the big show and he's literally thinking about exploding with rage on some dude? Pardon me, but he is an ignorant person. How many of you have jeopardized your job in a similar way? I know he's a kid, but yanno...no excuses. If this had been April 17th and not August, I see it more reasonably. Kids...out during/end of spring football blowing off steam. BUT come on, Jefferson! You're 3 weeks from the biggest game of your career as far as being on the main stage! What the frick are you doing at Shady's? Ryan Perrilloux MIGHT have even walked away. A senior?
But all that I said -- especially the quotations part -- really doesn't apply all that much. No one was targeting Jefferson. He's likely passed those tests before. This was an incident that could have just been avoided with reasoning. Ahh, but instinct is so much easier. Read the story called "The Most Dangerous Game". Jefferson is the epitome of what the anatagonist General Zarroff is referring to and why he's bored with dumb humans as they are basically nothing short of an animal.
And sure I have done plenty of stupid shite at bars when I was that age, but I also wasn't the starting qb at LSU. Ok...enough, I am starting to sound like 1210 AM The Score at about 12:22 pm right after an infomercial.

I preferred the Ice-T adaptation where he's running around with dreads.

1) I can't wait to see the movie they make when JL comes in and wins the natty.
2) JJ may be suspended, but as far as I'm concerned he is still a tiger and deserves support until this plays out.
3) If the marine started all this and they don't file charges, I will be pissed.
