Which was my thought. I kinda figure they will really be ready for Oregon, and am no more worried about that game now as I was a few weeks ago.

It certainly seems this even was an incredible distraction to the "fans" and I doubt the players are as much into pure drama as some of these people.

My only real concern is if the offensive play calling was a heavy lean towards having a mobile QB.

Is there a better video out there? The on I watched was 22 seconds long and I could not see crap. Does it clearly show someone getting kicked while on the ground? Maybe the police have a better video that shows more.

What came first? The chicken or the egg. How soon people forget that 4 people were hurt. 4. Which ones were hurt first? By whom? We have not heard one thing about the other 3 victims who have chosen or directed to remain silent by their lawyers, So people coming on here saying that there are no other witnesses are either crazy or whatever. The marine guy has issues. But, what about the guy who got drug from the truck? And who are the other 3 friends and what did they do wrong? I have loved LSU before most of your posters have been born. I will bleed purple and gold as long as I live. All that I ask is honesty. And now compassion for all concerned. Now let's get behind the team and show the Ducks what it means to be Tigers.

As this fan, I have been an LSU fan for my
entire life. Now is the time for the fan and
the team to come together and show the nation what the Tigers are made of.

He had no choice he ran a program with no discipline and now the entire team and their fans are suffering the consequences.

Lets see half the team out after curfew involved in a bar room brawl two weeks before the first game and Russe Sheperd living with an employee of the football program. Oh yeah that has discipline written all over it. LMAO!! What a clown.

Damn. I was hoping jj could return to 09 form. Slot of people on here think he has sucked for 2 years. While he was bad last year, his stats in 09 were similar to the stats Flynn put up in 07.

I believe JJ's were wrong and punishment fair, (maybe misdemeanor battery?), but can anyone tell me why a drunken misguided marine wannabe who picks a fight shouldn't get his arse kicked. Don't start a fight you can't win. Just walk away, live to fight another day. Lowrey probably gonna get a d/c from military before proceeding with an otherwise miserable career.

Agreed he shouldn't have started a fight. But JJ knowing that he is out when he shouldn't be, is a high profile player and recognized by many, should've thought twice before getting in the middle. He has no one to blame but himself. His action of leaving after curfew has affected the whole team. I wish the best for dumb JaMarcus but he really messed up. LSU should only be the top story on ESPN for on the field stuff - not this silly shite.

LSU really could possibly win National Championship with Lee and Mettenburg behind the helms!!

I think Brett Helms graduated ... unless of course you mean "at the helm".

Agreed, but Krag is used to working with QBs with limited or little mobility. I think we'll have a good game plan and if need be, we have J Randall who can run the wildcat/zone read..if we want to burn a RS year. The good thing is the coaches have 9 days to get ready and that is a long time in coach world with a 5th year QB.

I thought, now I might be wrong but isn't that a tradition for the seniors after the final scrimage to sneek out and go have a drink?

Yes you are right and I think everyone around town has heard that by now so I'm pretty sure these guys that keep bringing that up know too But I guess they are such good people that if they were on the team and all the guys were going out to celebrate they would have said "no thanks guys...I know it's tradition and all but it's awfully late. I'm gonna stay in and study."
There sure seems to be a lot of fricking choir boys up in here.

Sure...this sucks, but this pales in comparison to Ally Broussard going out for the season at the beginning of 2005 (and then who would have thunk a Katrina?)

J Jefferson is being sorely missed right now by many because he has been on ESPN; Jon Gruden and the Mannings "say he's good"; and he, prior to the incident, was saying all of the right things. My, how quickly we forget that he threw one td pass between the first and tenth games of the season; was a 3 and out machine at times; and had one of the worst passing eff's in the nation. I am not a JJ hater, but this has bothered me about as much as tonight's shitty fail of a 2008 BCS c'ship shown on the CW. Jefferson may have been able to become the next Jason Campbell or a modern day version of ressurection ala Jamie Howard and Josh Booty, but we'll never know. If we do not win an SEC title, I assure you it won't be because he's not playing. If we lose R. Randle or M. Claiborne or S. Ware, we're in much deeper doo doo.

Jaret Lee doesn't have a better skill set than JJ, but he has a better arm and possesses more intelligence. He threw pick 6's. Actually he just threw INT's and Brandon LaFell and D Byrd were offensive players for a reason. We're stuck with him, but he's won games for LSU in a different freaking era. I think he can help us win in 2011. If he can't, try Met. If he can't, try Ware or Landry or Terrance...if they can't, fire the entire university and start with Peabody and Himes Hall and the cashiers in the union and by next week, get the Cox Center and the Rec Center emptied and THEN get Miles's head.

Jordan Jefferson's legs will be missed. His ability to play well after 6 week vacations will be missed. The fact that he is a very recognized symbol of LSU will be missed. Aside from that, he did very little to impress me and many others. He was better than anything we had in '08, as was sitting on a dirty toilet seat in a gas station in north Baton Rouge in 100 degree heat, also. He was fair to good in 2009. He was horrible in 75 percent of his starts last season and was bailed out by the most physical defense since 2006-2007 at LSU. He likley would be much better this year, but I won't cry about this bullshite and frankly, it's ruined the best part of the downhill anticipation of the summer in talk radio in Baton Rouge. Instead of hearing about 2 deeps and talking Songy-esque predictions, we have to hear about this shite every day...hear Matt Moscona use this shite story to springboard himself into sushi infamy and more clonish than ever of Collin Cowherd. I can't even listen because I'm sick of hearing dumbasses from Port Allen call in to rehash this bullshite. So much for enjoying the last two weeks before season kicks off and then we're back to talking about same ole goat shite of firing Miles and benching Lee. Can't hardly wait.

Long post, but it's my first and last dealing with this stupid situation. There's a bar fight every night in Baton Rouge. I've been in 'em and so have you. Kudos to the BRPD for making this into a big deal. I know this is just what the doctor ordered to solve the other 400 crimes that went on that night.

Jefferson was beginning his senior season. It was professed by him and Les that its his team, he is the leader. He let his team, coaches and university down that were counting on him. I don’t feel sorry for JJ one bit. A true leader especially at a high profile school, would not pull such a stunt. He could have stood up as a leader and said no to breaking curfew. Those involved must be held accountable no matter if they are found guilty of lesser charges.

Les can send a strong message from a damn strong coach- this behavior will not be tolerated- regardless if its your first offense or not. Les cannot afford to lose this team and he did the correct thing. You cannot let the inmates run the asylum.

This could have been a special season for Jefferson and this team. It potentially can still be a special season for the team. If I didn’t kick him off the team, I would reduce him to the practice squad, he could not dress for games home or away, and could not be on the sideline and watch any post season play from the stands or on TV.

Les should keep Jefferson & Johns away from the team as long as its remains un-resolved. They will be nothing more than a distraction. The team and program is larger than the individuals. FIDO—Forget It Drive On!
