I agree with you. He's the best prospect out of LA in a long time.

We did a lot of high ball screens with JOB this year and it worked really well, even with a guy that has basically no ball handling ability and no outside game. Imagine doing that with Martin next year while keeping JOB in the post (if he stays). Martin is going to be a matchup nightmare.

Is Martin in the Jordan brand game?

Jarrell's alley oop was number 3 play on Top 10

In that gif, is he inbounding or dunking it?

Pretty damn athletic. The team next year will be ridiculously athletic. Think Marquette or Memphis type athleticism.

Dunking. He looked like the biggest guy on the court last night and moved very well for a 6'8" 230 guy. This kid is a talent.

This kid is a human highlight reel

The biggest thing to me is he plays above the rim, even at his size. That is tough. You see the skinny guys jumping and playing up there, but Martin can body up with bigs and fly. Really impressive combo of athleticism.

My biggest concern will be him leaving after 1'season as a tiger
Posted on 4/4/13 at 9:01 am to Slapouttiger
I think we get 2 seasons out of him.
Posted on 4/4/13 at 9:06 am to TXGunslinger10
He has only been playing ball for 2 seasons but I know the reason has been so he could support his family. If he can get paid after 1 season I 100% see him doing it.

He's a first rounder.'Johnny better get the cash and don't get caught this time

Martin is a 1 and done, I would be shocked otherwise. Considering his humble upbringing and his size/athleticism he's a Tyrus Thomas type draft pick.

I agree. I like getting 1 one and done then getting some other program players. I think that is the perfect recipe for recruiting.

Im excited to watch Mickey right now, it will be tough deciding who to start between the 2 IMO for Johnny Jones. Whoever doesnt start will still likely be getting 25 minutes or so off the bench.
Edit - and wow, that is a REALLY nice problem to have

I truely believe Mickey is more of a slashing SF, while Martin is a PF. We need a SF, so I could see Mickey starting next year.
I really wouldn't mind:
1. Hickey
2. Stringer
3. Mickey
4. Martin
5. JOB
