Stats are great for times when you are bored, but leading the team into the end zone is what counts. Will see what next season holds.

JR wasnt that great at LSU, raw talent but no brains, if it wasnt for that notre dame game he wouldnt have been number 1 overall. What was his stats his senior year?

I like JJ, but that's not the entire story.

Compare sacks, points scored, etc.

Stats are kind of meaningless. Leadership and getting the ball in the endzone, consistency are much more important.

If you don't recall jamarcus was pulled from many games in the early 3rd quarter . He could have easily had 40+ td passes his junior year . Jordan Jefferson isn't a hair on Jamarcus Russell's nuts .

Very good post! Jefferson has done well for his 1st full year.Especially considering the Coaching staff didn't once design a game plan where JJ's stregnths were utilized ex. rolling the pocket, boot passes and SMART OPTION plays.

Get a clue. The JR you see on Sports Center is not the JR that played at LSU in 2006. I suggest that you watch the 2007 Sugar Bowl or the game against ULL or even the game against the University of Arizona.

I suggest the 2005 game versus Tennessee. JR is a huge guy with a huge arm and a p brain

JaMarcus also had a very solid oline and a pretty powerful running game which took pressure off of the QB. Also Jamarcus is 2-3 inch taller and outweighed JJ by 20-30 pounds a little bit harder to sack

All valid points. Russell had Jimbo as his QB coach though, so in the end, it really doesn't matter. I have confidence in JJ. I don't have confidence in his QB coach

Agree to an extent but Jimbo runs a very vanilla offense. How many times in the shotgun did you adn everyone else in the stadium know it was going to be a draw. JJ is a good QB. Give him an O-line and I am sure he will excel. The kid is accurate as well

He was pulled in the 3rd quarter only when we were playing teams like UL

JaMarcus vs Jordan - Sophomore Year comparsion
Russell -
Completions/Attempts - 188 for 331 (60.5%)
Yards - 2443
TD's - 15
INT's - 9
QB Rating - 136.56

Jefferson -
Completions/Attempts - 182 for 296 (61.5%)
Yards - 2166
TD's - 17
INT's - 7
QB Rating - 137.18

The way the majority of people on this board think (and sadly talk), they probably think Jefferson couldn't play for their local high school team.

Like I said in an earlier thread, the sky is not falling.

Stay positive, the future is very bright.

Awesome post. Keep it up. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Jamarcus was not 1st team or second team in 05 your wrong! Also his 11-2 sophmore season he had these cats blocking.
Andrew Whitworth 1st team All SEC
Will Arnold 2nd team All SEC
Rudy Niswanger 2nd Team AL SEC

Dude if you don't think having those linemen make a difference in a QB performance your smokin crack
