You left out sacks taken and intentional grounding calls. I don't have those stats but I rather suspect Jamarcus looks a lot better when those are taken into account.
Besides - it isn't about JJ. It's about Les.

Pro rate his stats to Flynn as a senior.
I think a lot of people will be surprised.

Nah, the problem is that it is the same JR.

Its funny how LSU won championships right before and right after his QB tenure.

JJ is not the problem
the o-line and Gary Choke-ton is the problem.
that lil man has about 1.2 seconds in the pocket before he damn near gets killed.
put Tebow behind our o line and watch the concussions pile up

It's funny how LSU won a title the year after him with the exact same record as the year before.

The RANTards have too much invested in attacking Crowton to admit anything that supports Crowton.
Miles is correct in keeping Crowton and ignoring the clueless coach haters.

Whoever said Jamarcus was good his soph year?

i think the OP's point is that all is not lost and Jefferson can/will get better

I have my doubts, but we'll see

Not a great comparison as Flynn didn't play in two games (one of which, Middle Tenn., would have been a stat gimme at 44-0); was pretty banged up for another 2-3; and shared a good bit of PT with RP.

can we show the number of sacks taken during two minute offense?
though I don't think JJ took that many sacks in 2 min, JR had him beat in pocket presence in 05. but he was also a 3rd yr soph and had played more as a freshman. these comparisons are always kinda tough though.
ultimately he can get better, and I thought I saw signs that he was getting better own the stretch. it's just taking longer to get to where I thought he'd be by now.

i dont care who you are even Michael Jordan needed development.

He's certainly got the arm strength and the accuracy, no matter what anybody says. He's also got more toughness and guts than any LSU QB since Mauck, although I know that's obviously a very subjective thing. He's also improved mightily since the Florida game.
The problem is that there are certain lingering bad traits he has that don't show any signs of ever changing. He's got to get a quicker release. He's got to get better peripheral vision. He's got to be more aware of game situations. He's got to learn to look off receivers and see the whole field. And this is after he played a good bit his freshman year, starting big games on the road, and got all the first-string reps through spring and summer.
Until he learns these things better, I'm not sure if he will ever operate an offense that consistently puts up the yardage, first downs, and points, that an LSU offense should be able to put up. I know that his stats look wonderful relative to the rest of the offense, but they are skewed by a lot of his own bad decisions (taking sacks rather than throwing the ball away; scrambling or throwing a short pass on 3rd and 10 rather than going for a first down throw), and all the stats in the world are meaningless if he can never run an offense capable of putting points on the board.
If you go by the thinking that players should be playing a "year up" by the time they get to the bowl season, then how JJ played against Penn State should be indicative of his potential as a 3rd year QB for LSU. But he kept throwing balls into the ground, gave DBs all the time in the world to read his throws, and once again lacked situational awareness late in the game. Once again, though, his stats were very good. Okay, that's something positive, but it doesn't mean he played a great game, even with the drops.
There's no question that he has the athletic ability and the toughness. It's just a matter of being willing to learn the other aspects of being a QB, and perhaps more importantly, having someone there to teach them to him.

regarding completion percentage:
i could complete 2 yard hitch routes and screens all day long

This is the biggest difference between JJ and JR-potential upside. Just don't see it. A better comparison is Marcus Randall, not JR.
Good post Doc.
