Simple, Saban recruits the players to go there to win a championship as the ultimate goal, not going to the NFL. The NFL is a by product of why the player goes to Bama, not reason #1. LSU recruits players to come as a route to the NFL. So when a player thinks he is ready to move on, in his mind, he has reached his ultimate goal-nothing more to accomplish for me so it’s time to move on. The Bama player, in his mind, isn’t finished yet. Smith’s mind, through teachings of Saban, realized he wasn’t finished yet because there was no championship last year or the year before. Yes, they won it his freshman year but he couldn’t move on then so the last two years have been “failures “. It’s a different mindset established in the players from the beginning. We recruit as a method to move on, Saban recruits the players to believe that the NFL alone is not the only goal at the program as long as he is in charge.

Alabama doesn’t lose those players Bc Saban brainwashes his players with the idea that they’re not prepared or ready for the next level.

This thread has gone about how I suspected - a bunch of losers that can’t wait to call Chase a quitter.
He’s going before Devonta because he’s the better player.
Think about this for a minute - only 1 WR has more deep catches than Chase since 2019 and Chase didn’t take a snap this year.

Devonta Smith is better and hope Chase slips to late first round, why because hopefully this will teach kids to play their 3rd year or risk millions.

Devonta Smith goes first.

What a joke of a response. The ncaa gave them the opportunity to opt out. Get over it. It’s not your career, or your prospective money. It’s a good thing recruits don’t read these threads, they’d realize how little value the “fans” have for their well being.

Quitter vs Warrior? Hmmm?

JC quit. The other didn’t

Chase without a doubt will be first receiver taken in draft.

He didn’t quit because of Covid. The NCAA has never had authority to tell a player they can’t quit. If Jamar was coming back, then he “opted out”. He’s not coming back. He quit.

Whatever you want to call it, he made a decision that he thought was best for his career. You or anybody else on here doesn’t decide what’s best for him.

Devonta can ball, but I’m taking Chase if I had to choose. Chase is just more of a physical presence. He’s so strong in the air and after the catch.
When defenders try to get physical with Chase they are the ones who get knocked off stride. Chase physically dominated every corner who tried to cover him.
Go look at that first TD against Clemson. Their corner, the 16th overall pick, tries to get handsy with Chase; Chase gives him a little bump back; and Terrell struggles to keep his feet, while Chase effortlessly gathers in the TD. Chase did this to two first rounders. They were helpless against him.

Plus Smith is a bit frail.
Which one sat out a year because he was petrified he’d get injured?

Devonta Smith goes first. Next question please.

Chase. He will be a freak at combine.
Let’s hope so.....he will have been training for it for 15 straight, uninterrupted months.

Chase=AB
And does lsu even claim him in the draft this coming year?
I don't like quitters when we needed a leader for this year. We lost everyone and needed him
