Where is he going to play?

He’s talented but he has guys in front of him.

I get that, but he was arguably one of the best recruits in the nation, not just at LSU.

He’s listed as the 4th WR on the depth chart.

Not even listed on defense at all

He's back at S. he plays ST's.. watching him he's such a fluid athlete.. he is gonna see the field. I would bet it's gonna be more often the next few weeks

No. Probably transfers and lights it up somewhere else.

He’ll play more next year. Delpit has FS locked down and i believe Aranda likes John battle more than Stevens at that SS spot. He’s just a freshman so who knows what Aranda will scheme up for him in the next years.

Also concerned about Todd Harris. Dude is a hard hitter on ST but literally nowhere for him to go at this point.

Battle got another year but I'm not convinced he doesn't try his hand in the NFL. He will get some looks. If I'm wrong it wouldn't hurt to have his leadership.

Don't worry, depth will be useful next year. There likely won't be as much separation from all the guys mentioned next year, so they'll all get playing time and solidify DBU

He must not be ready. Otherwise he would be seeing the field and seeing it frequently. Hopefully he can continue to improve.

It just shows that all the off-season talk about the players is just a bunch of hogwash a lot of times. Everyone was acting like he would immediately be the next Chad Jones or Eric Reid or something. The expectations are unrealistic and unhealthy for the players sometimes.

Actually following the spring game, anyone with any sense knew delpit was gonna get snaps before Stevens. This was solidified when he moved to wr outta the blue in preseason

Neither of our starting safety’s are setting the world on fire. Delpit shows flashes but that’s it. I’m assuminh it’s just gonna take some time for him to adjust

Delpit is gonna be awesome , he has made some mistakes in coverage but he’s a star in the making . Obviously Jamal Adams was better than Delpit as a true freshman but Adams is already a stud in the league . Guys like that don’t grow on trees.

harris or Stevens should move to corner.

I know he's (Stevens) moved a lot but one of the reasons he came to lsu was because Raymond sold him on playing S and CB.

We need the depth there way more than safety where we return delpit, battle, Monroe as the top 3 and add kelvin Joseph

Not saying he isn’t going to be good, but like you said, he isn’t Jamal Adams back there. And neither is Battle or Monroe, the other guys ahead of him

Honestly Delpit could be better than Adams. While Adams was good as a freshmen he only started two games and was not put in the same situation as Delpit. Delpit has played pretty much every snap this season on defense so of course there are going to be freshmen mistakes, Adams did not play nearly as much in the beginning of that season.

Was hoping battle was a senior. He's holding some guys back. It could lead to a transfer or two of some really talented safeties
