To be fair, these walkons have all been La kids who probably deserved scholarships but were willing to walk on with TOPS to the state school. The problem is all these imports that haven't worked out. To my recollection, the last in state scholarship specialist was Chris Jackson (Wing doesn't count).

Les: The gift that keeps on giving! He signed all of these kickers over the years, yet the walk-ons consistently beat out those guys.

Well, let's be fair. These "walk-ons" ( i.e. Colby D and Jack G) were recruited by other D-1 schools. Bama was after Jack for a while and Colby had a full ride to UH from jump street. Both guys heart was LSU and that is where they decided to play. The fact that LSU did not offer them scholarships is not an indication of their abilities or that another kicker was better.

This is somewhat shocking that Culp didn't get the nod. He's been boom in Fall camp. Dude got leg

He has some BIG misses. Jack has been much more on target. They were close all Fall but Jack just continued to chart better when it counted.

Thats why he's on KO's

Much larger margain for error on screwing up KO's instead of FG's
