LSU, in addition to being 4-0 in SEC play, has wins over Oregon and West Virginia, away from home, in convincing fashion. Neither of those teams has lost a game this season, other than against LSU.
The assistant sports information directors' poll voters, along with the media talking heads, particularly Herbfrick, are just trying to keep people interested in the season because they know everyone with any sense will consider the season over on the night of November 5th.
Of course, ESPN and Herbfrick are going to campaign as hard as they can to keep CBS from having the first #1 vs. #2 regular season game since 2006 by propping up Choklahoma. Naturally, that won't keep either LSU or Alabama from stomping their shite again in New Orleans, but it is kind of sad that they have to falsely manufacture drama for corporate profits.

Both teams have major flaws?? I don't know about Bama, but if LSU is a "flawed" team, the flaws must be fairly minor. They look pretty good, to me.

You're right we suck. The Big 10 kicks the SEC's arse. Ditto the Big 12 and whoa, the fricking Pac12, they are awesome!!
Name one Big 10 team that is worth a flying rat's arse besides Wisconsin and they have played nothing but patsies except for Pelini's way overrated Husker team.
B12? Who is worth a shite besides OU or OSU?
There's a huge drop off after the elites this year and their is more mediocrity (parity) than ever. It will get even more hosed if the NCAA drops schollies to 80 from 85 as they have proposed.
