It’s time to ride. (Long post)

Would would’ve thought we’d be here in August? The doom and gloom was burdensome. 8-4, 7-5.... nobody was giving this team a chance. I can’t say I blame them. Anemic offensive game planning, a QB that never seemed to want the ball in do or die situations, coaching staff turmoil, attrition, you name it... this team faced some adversity.
Then September came. Wins against Miami and Auburn injected some life in to this fanbase, and was a huge step in this team finding their identity.
It hasn’t always been pretty. Perhaps underwhelming wins against La Tech and SELA, and then of course... dropping a close one in the swamp to Florida, a game many including myself feel like LSU could have and should have won.
It would’ve been so easy for this team to fold against Georgia. It’s always easier to give up. But the exact opposite happened and LSU let the country know they still meant business by showcasing a dominating win in Tiger stadium vs the #2 team in the country.
Now here we are. November 3rd. 7-1. With a chance to take the drivers seat in the SEC. A chance to avenge 7 years of gump tyranny. A chance to assert the truth in the FACT that football in the state of Louisiana is alive and well, and a sleeping giant has been woken in the LSU football program. Generational type talents in Devin White and Grant Delpit, an automatic kicker who has given this team confidence in its special teams, a lock down corner in Greedy Williams who has brought that 2011-esque swagger back to the Tiger defense. A coach in Ed Orgeron who has waited his entire life for this opportunity to take his state’s team to the promise land, backed by his wife who has overcame extreme adversity and a fanbase that is thirsty for Alabama blood.
And last but not least, a Quarterback who has perhaps single handedly revived this LSU offense, carrying with him an NFL level football IQ, the swagger and Moxie that LSU hasn’t seen at the position in ages, veteran leadership, and the burning desire to win this exact game. This is why Joey B came to LSU. He has been waiting his whole life for this. Fearing nobody, it’s his time to show the world what he’s capable of.
And then of course there’s us. The fans.... starving for opportunity, thirsty for Alabama blood, fueled by dark water and other substances and a passion for the purple and gold, with a promise to create the most hostile environment that Tua and his little elephant buddies have ever played in.
So ladies and gents. It’s time. Strap in, buckle down and enjoy the journey. It’s us against the world. We are riding with some real mother fricking Tigers tonight!
