Yeah and it isn't like O inherited some loaded roster. He built a factory.

That's because, despite what the Clemson reprobates would have you believe, Dabo had to pull that program from the depths of obscurity to get it where it is today. They sit back and sneer at us for being "one year wonders" while having no history to offer beyond one of their players being a punching bag.

That should tell you how close we were - roster wise, and that Coach O made some good personnel decisions and hired some good coaches.

That. And this isn't an argument to have, he was the recruiting coordinator prior to becoming the HC. So he had a hand in roster construction.

Not great but the majority was committed or here when he took over. Obviously they were developed by O and his coaches. He inherited a pretty loaded roster that lacked depth and they fine tuned the shite out of it.

If the roster lacked depth at key positions, then it wasnt loaded.

Your post literally just emphasized my whole point. The staff and roster that he has created in those 3 years is incredible. He has turned LSU into an absolute factory.

I love Coach O and everything, but Dabo built Clemson. Unlike LSU when Coach O was named head coach, Clemson wasn't an NFL factory with a recent history of winning conference or national titles when Dabo took over. The fruits of Dabo's labors are now evident: he's led Clemson to five straight College Football Playoff appearances, four national title games and two national championships (beating Bama twice in the process).

What Coach O has done during his tenure in Baton Rouge is awesome, but don't kid yourself, Orgeron has a ways to go to achieve the sustained excellence of Clemson over the past half decade.
