Pretty sure if Steele wasn't a good coach then Saban would have just shown him the door instead of keeping him around AND bring him back when his time was done at Clemson. Just sayin

Saban ultimately is Bamas DC so it really doesn't matter who they hire. They just need to be able to recruit and do what they are told.
ETA: And can we desist with questioning people's loyalty to LSU If they don't support the hire. We support LSU football and it will outlive any one personality, and if true fans detect that the program is going in the wrong direction then sometimes coaches, ADs, players need to get out of the way and move on. It's the reason the most devoted NFL fans show up at the draft and the same reason they boo if they don't like the pick.

Saban brought him back more for his recruiting than anything else, although he is a good position coach.
Watch how he acts during spring drills before you dismiss the hire.

Did you watch the game this past year? LSU Offense move the ball at will against Alabama. I think LSU played a good game against their rival but lost it in the end and i really believe they would have one the game if they would have scored a touchdown instead of settling for the field goal. Didnt one coach tell Kiffin we stole this game from them.
