Just heard Jimmy Ott say that is part of the problem. I believe it has more to do with how many starters we lost and that there is really no senior leadership on the team. Thoughts?

Probably both but mostly the loss of personnel

That certainly seems to be one factor, but there are multiple problems.

Yet this somehow doesn't happen to other elite programs like Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson etc.

This... and instead of replacing the key coaches with hungry, young up and coming coaches, O replaced them with old, has beens.

O got complacent and didn’t drive & lead this team like he has on the past.

A hangover is a nice way of saying that the head coach didn’t do his job effectively after winning the championship in January.

O gets the credit for winning the title last year and gets the credit for this years abortion.

This has nothing to do with it.
The men cooking the gumbo are not good chefs (Ensminger & Pelini).
Some key ingredients aren’t very good (O-Line, Linebacker, Safety). If you’re not strong up the middle, it will be rough.
A humiliating loss like that was not the result of some bullshite and unfounded intrigue.

I could be wrong but I don’t the other teams that you mentioned have ever lost as many players at key positions like LSU has.

Don't think so! We're young and O hired a DC from the local nursing home to replace a young, innovative assistant coach that moved on to greener pastures!
