OSU got beat down 41-14 in the BCSNG. LSU was still in the game until the richardson TD.

I am thinking more of a 2008 2009 Bama comprison.
Didn't seem like their year, but 12-0 and it seemed like they were unstoppable, then a couple of crushing late season loses.
Regroup, come back the next year and win it all.

I just don't see a team outside of the SEC beating the SEC Champ in the title game.
Some of the USC Teams of the earlier part of the 2000s may have been capable of beating the SEC Champions of those respective seasons.
Texas '05 team was questionable.
