we just had what causes these big programs to cycle down. we "missed" on QB's for 4 years and in year 4 of that went 13-1 losing in the NC game. if anything we avoided the long term downwards trend and are right back to another decade of success.

Funny. This is football we're talking about, not some global warming theory. Football success or failure comes from the result of good or bad recruiting, skills coaching, strength and conditioning, etc., none of which I see on the decline at LSU.

Bama had 25 years of huge success under Bear Bryant, then went thru decades of mediocrity, except for one year, until Saban brought them back.

It's all about management of the team, and we are in good hands with Miles, who has proven that in 7 years.

That is a mind boggling stat...especially for people who remember the hallman days

Last year Les won 13 games.

Hudson Curley Hallman was 16-28 in 4 seasons at LSU

Most of the programs he listed had coaching changes or probation.

The except being FSU, which did keep HC B Bowden, but lost key assistants (Richt, Amato) that were replaced by people named Bowden in some cases

Bobby, like Joe Pa, got old and lazy.

Even at a modest projection of a 10-3, 9-4, 8-5 over the next 3 seasons, Miles will have won roughly 100 games before losing 28.

Ponder that when you're trying to put in perspective how bad LSU football was under Hallman.

As long as LSU keeps up with the facilities, it would take serious effort to have a string that bad

Even teams that have been down lately, like FSU and Miami haven't had 2 losing seasons, let alone 6 in a row.

Make it stop! Since Jan 9 the Nega-Tigers have been out in full force. Nothing but doom and gloom. Get a life you guys! We are living in the midst of the best years in the history of LSU football! I should know, I've been a season ticket holder since 1971. 2011 was an incredibly great year! Stop and smell the roses!

Nearly 110 Division I schools wish they had what would be considered Miles worst recruiting class ever at LSU.

Is LSU football due to cycle down?

If you look at all the great college programs of the last 50 years you can clearly see a cyclical pattern of excelling for

can you believe 9 wins ?? Bama will lose 2 games , Ark may have the hot hand , LSU has the talent , but we the team buy the "For the team "like they did last season ?? It all depends on what the TEAM wants to do . If the heart of this team took a hit , we in a heap of trouble .
