[quote]considering that LSU had been so explosive all year sticking to the game plan until things broke open, even in adverse games like UGA and ARKY, it makes total sense that Les didn't scrap the entire seasons strategy and preparation at half time.[/quote

I'm still not sure how so many seem to think that constantly changing personnel = good coaching.

The much bigger flaw in that game was the line play, and the emational flatness we had. I'm not sure what the issue was with the line play. I think the flatness was absolutely due to this being a rematch that never should have occurred at all.

What Miles was ridiculed for was how unprepared the team was in the NC game
Why the double standard? Stoops, Saban, Meyer(FSU 31-7), Caroll (x2 in '09), among other greats have all had their turn at no shows, and vs much less talented squads than LSU faced 1-9-12.
Miles has navigated some treacherous waters since coming to LSU considering 6 of 7 NCs have come from his conference during his tenure here.

No double standard at all, at least not by me. All of those coaches have been criticized for their no shows, and you have to take it account with Miles, as well. For what it's worth, I put Miles up there with all of the names you mentioned.

Honestly I think he is close/equally as good as Saban, but not an a-hole. He isn't perfect and makes some mistakes, but we have a hell of a team and compete with the best of the best.

Not yet...I think JJ/JL really handicapped the team for 4 years though and his unwillingness or inability to get another guy in there hurt him in putting together a dominating couple of seasons.

2009 bowl loss would have never happened with good QB play aka Ryan Perriloux wasn't a jackass. Come into 2009 riding a higher wave and not reeling over the signing of Zack Lee to MLB. That hurt him too. Fast forwrad to 2010...still hasn't solved the QB issue or made a change of Off Coord...Crowton's system was far too complex for either of these kids. NFL QB's struggled with knowing it all and his lack of change really hurt him these few years.

He finally makes the change in 2011 and you saw immediate improvement in the offense. Granted he was still handicapped by the personnel on the field under center. But this is arguably the most complete QB LSU has ever had and if he doesn't win a NC with Mett...then I feel this will never be a question that can be objectively answered with anything other than a "no".

Basically what I said in the OP.

Only one national championship, and a controversial one at that (only 2 loss BCS champion), says no. He has 5 successful years in 7 and is 1 for 2 in national title games. Ask this question again in 10 years and we'll have a clearer view. But right now it is like asking if Drew Brees is a hall-of-famer. I do not think he is yet but very well could be by the time he eventually retires.

Why "controversial" when 07 is the only NC we have that was #1 in both the AP and BCS?

If you want to talk "controversial" NC, try the 03 one when the AP didn't recognize as NC's and you had LSU fans putting up billboards due to the "controversial" AP decision.

As to the OP question....not yet.
