eat lunch at Chicken King in Port Barre. Get the dirty Rice for a side.

Don't take 71 north unless you have a radar. The road is built like a drag strip but they enforce the 55.

shite it doesnt matter. The basin bridge on 10 is a speed trap. Krotz springs on 190 is a speed trap. 71 before Bunkie is a speed trap.

You're going to get a ticket, my friend.

No 5 mph over in Port Barre and Krotz Springs coming down from the bridge. 1 mph over and you have a ticket. Livonia watch your speed because they have road construction going on there and the cops are on that short 35 mph stretch hard.

Coming back on you will not be able to take 190 because the Spillway bring that is east of Krotz Springs is closed to east bound traffic.

That route adds at least a half hour on to your trip and 71 is getting worse for speed traps. I-49 just had the speed limit raised to 75.

Coming back he will have to go down to Laffy to catch I-10 since the spillway bridge before Krotz Springs is closed for east bound traffic due to resurfacing.

Im picking friend up in br, but damn that trip from covington to br can be killer. Last wednesday i had the luxury of being at a dead stop on 12 to let construction vehicles in and out. It was miserable.

No way! I went to North Lake College in Irving for 2 years, lived another year in Irving and drove Hot Shot for 5 years and I have traveled everyway possible from Baton Rouge to Shreveport to Dallas.

I-10 to I-49 to Arlington is 480 miles.

190 to I-49 to Arlington is 465 miles.

190 to 71 to Bunkie to I-49 to Arlington is 441.

Trust me on this one.

When I was driving Hot Shot...time plus gas = Money. So I had to figure out the best way to get from point A to point B that was the quickest and most economical.

I timed and logged every different way possible.

The way I shared is by far the most effective way.

PS- Not to mention...if you are on I-10 and an accident happens on the Basin Bridge...you are screwed.

You have more options my way! I have no reason to lie. Just look at the map and you can see I-10 to I-49 is way farther.

Also...10 to 49 is the worst way to go. If you don't do 71 to Bunkie...190 to 49 is the second best way.

its a longer distance to travel, but if traffic is flowing good you never stop, and cover the ground faster.

But traffic never cooperates

Man I am telling you 71 is not the way to go. I live in Livonia and drive to Alexandria every week. 71 is a 2 lane hwy full of potholes and parish deputies. Go to 49 and do 75 the whole way there on a modern interstate.

Washington no longer has the speed trap. That was taken care of when the speed limit was raised.

I-10 to I-49 is quicker as long as there is no wreck on the basin. 190 is sloooow. Cops everywhere.
