We need to win to excite ppl and they will come. The PMAC is a land mark for most tiger fans and with a face lift can be first class.

UCLA

UCLA's arena just underwent a 2 year almost $140 million renovation so I wouldn't include that one. All the other arena's for the most part have a storied history and that is why they stay. While the PMAC does have some history it has no where near the history of those arena's. Cameron Indoor (Duke) is a glorified high school gym also.

exactly, they didn't build a new arena. I never said the PMAC wouldn't be served well by a renovation

revamp something that's reaching the end of it's usable life

You can't say the PMAC is reaching the end of its useable life when the gymnastics team puts 13,000+ in there every Friday night

What does that have to do with the structure of the building? Have you looked up recently when you attend a game? The ceiling is peeling and cracking (and that's just the part that's visible), the seats while new, barely fit, the concourse is not big and dated... Oh and the Coach and Admin want to redo the whole thing to add a premium seating... If you have to fix and change all that, makes more sense to just build something new

But you included it with other old arenas of blue blood programs that haven't had any major renovations.

no, but it'd be awesome if they used it for a year or two and replaced the PMAC with a fieldhousec ala Cameron Indoor

That was in reference to the people saying we needed to build a new arena to keep up with the big boys. To keep up with the big boys we just need to win.

The PMAC is an eyesore. Wish they had more of a field house look from the outside, instead of a giant UFO.
