We didn’t plan our wedding for the fall for that very reason, too. Unfortunately, I planned it for the spring, in 1986. No clue that the basketball team would be in the final four, the first game of which was the Saturday of my wedding. I’m sure several people didn’t show because of that. Thankfully, we had the reception at the Faculty Club, and the manager set up a TV in a side room. I appreciated the people who did show up.

I proposed on a mountain in Colorado (this was before smartphones). Wife picked a date in September. I said I couldn't commit because I had to get back home and "check my calendar." Got back, checked my calendar, and her date was a bye week. I eventually fessed up. However, I believe that it was "meant to be."

Solid. If I’m going to watch LSU with a group, it has to be a smaller group with folks that are tiger fans, really into the game, and that know a little about football. Worst thing is when you’re trying to hear specifics about the replay review that is underway, and somebody is going on and on about their new home repair project.
