Imo here’s how I think we should match our corners against bama

Nobody in the country can guard there receivers. We need to either blitz or hopefully get pressure with 3 and drop 8. They are simply too good. All 4 are first rounders

Ruggs and Jeudy are first rounders. I’m not sold on smith or waddle as a first rounder yet especially smith I haven’t seen his name on first round boards in every mock draft I’ve read

Agreed...lol i thought maybe even playing off of them into a prevent and containing them and lets get that shootout going and last one to score wins. their 4 receivers vs our 3

Alabama mostly runs 3 wr sets tho they don’t have waddle on the same field as Jeudy Ruggs and smith a whole lot which is while waddle has a lack of production

Clemson showed the nation how to beat Alabama. MIXED COVERAGES! You can't play man the entire game and you certainly can't play zone the entire game. Show one look and go into another to confuse Tua, otherwise he will shred you. Aranda has been experimenting with this which is why our defense has had busted assignments.

They will play pitch and catch all game playing prevent when u gave guys like stingley and Fulton is a bad idea

Dave likes cover 1. Cover 1 is all about funneling to the safety. We cannot do that against Bama, because they love the slant. I think we should just use cover 1 with inside leverage and make Tua throw it perfect all game on fades and back shoulders. I think this and keeping the linebackers delayed on the RPOs forcing them to run it is key as well.
We aren’t going to match up well against those receivers, but our DBs are the best ones to do it than anybody, we just can’t put them in a position to get burnt.

To slow Bama down, you have to take risks. Man up and Jam their receivers at the line of scrimmage. Rush four and blitz. With these offenses whoever can make the most stops wins.

Their defense isnt what it was...if ole miss can put up 31 we should have no problem. Will need marshall back 100% and not missing a beat.

I like Kary in the Free Safety roll and Grant closer to the line. Still not 100% sure on Flott but he has yet to be burned/completely out of place.
I think the best 11 for non obvious passing downs:
DE: Lawrence
NT: Shelvin
DE: Logan
OLB: Chaisson
ILB: Clark/Queen/Phillips
ILB: Clark/queen/Phillips
OLB: Stevens
CB: Stingley
FS: Vincent
SS: Delpit
CB: Fulton
Bring in Flott and Brooks for 2 of the DL on obvious passing downs.

Exactly you can’t play safe soft zones against bama it isn’t going to work. Everyone is saying clemson played zone but bama still moves the ball they had miscues in the end zone that game
