Well shite, he can't go and run the plays for them. He puts them where he thinks they should go and leaves the rest up to them.

You're right, he fails everywhere he goes, that's why the NFL wanted him.

Maybe he's not the best OC we could have, but he's had shite for brains running the offense the last 3 years. He probably runs the same 3 plays b/c they are the only ones JJ remembers.

Hell I could go out there and put them where I think they should be. Am I the right guy for the job at LSU. The answer is no. This isn't highschool, results are all that matters. He hasn't had positive results the last two years. Look at the recruiting classes we have had. There is no excuse for LSU being so bad at offense.

So your reasoning behind Crowton sucking is because all 3 QBs in that span (Hatch, Lee, and Jefferson) are mentally handicapped.

brilliant

If only he was as smart as JRussell in 06. Arguably the most intelligent LSU player to ever put on the uniform

this thread is beyond retarded

You mean like the QB and the RB on teh short side of the field on option plays?

Or Toliver 3 yards behind the first down marker on third down?

Or Shep in the same tired jet sweep play over and over again?

Lee and Jefferson were highly rated out of high school

Jefferson won two louisiana state 5a titles

And lee was an elite 11 qb

And besides that, who recruited these qb's?

Miles/fisher with lee

And miles/crowton with Jefferson

Is Crowton as bad as fans think he is? No. You don't put together so many good offenses as he has while being bad. Does he need to move on or be let go? Certainly. He had his chance this year to prove he could do it and he wasn't close to being consistent enough.

What needs to be done is a matter of opinion. The fact of the matter is that he'll likely be retained to preserve the 2011 season, in which LSU is set up to win the SEC. If we accomplish this goal, and the postseason implications, there's a chance that Crowton will be given an extension.

As long as we have Mett at QB, we'll do fine, but we may find ourselves exactly where we are now once Rivers has to take the reigns... if Crowton can't develop Rivers any better than he has Lee or Jefferson, he'll be let go then, IMO.

No. Not close. We changed OCs in 07 and won the national championship. Auburn changed OCs in 04 and went undefeated. Bama changed OCs in 08 and won the West. The fact that things line up so well for us next year should be a reason why we make a change.

Should we really keep him around for 4 more years to figure this out??

Absolutely not. Will we? It depends on how the next season goes. I promise you that if we win the BCS with Mett or Jefferson as QB, Crowton has earned himself a paycheck from the powers that be, whether that's what SHOULD happen or not.

We changed OCs. Wether it was because the change was forced or not, my point remains valid.

I can see that being true, but I really hope that the powers that be aren't that simple minded.

If we could have upgraded to even a mediocre offense this year, we'd be teh ones beating up SC right now in the dome.
