quote:You cannot hang the fate of the entire LSU football program for the last 2 years on RP. Yes, we suffered on offense in '08 but RP was not responsible for the horrible coaching decisions that Miles made hiring Maleveto, Stud, and McCarthy. RP is not responsbile for a sucky defense. Also, the terrible QB play we have had for 2 years now and the lack of development can not be blamed on RP. Crowton and the coaches have had 2 years to develop a QB and they haven't. JL has regressed and is no longer serviceable and JJ is mediocre and has not shown much improvement after 14 games.
you missed the point totally. what the man was saying (and quite rightly) is that if Perilloux doesn't meltdown we have our qb progression in perfect order. with perilloux we, IMHO, win at least 10 games the last two years and are probably 2-1 or 3-0 against Sabama. Perilloux was the caliber of qb that would have allowed JL and RR the liberty to learn first and let their learning curve mature at mopup time. the program would have sustained it's level of excellence which would have only made recruiting that much more successful and Crowton and Miles would have reaped the benefits that they had worked so hard to acheive. Ryan Perilloux torpedoed, but did not sink, LSU football. we have and will continue to right the ship and are ready to renue our quest for crystal. JMHO.
