I had never heard of Miles before he came to LSU,I don't know why the job was never offered to Jimbo Fisher(at least not to my knowledge it wasn't)when Saban left.As long as Miles can keep us around the .750 percentage in W's he'll remain here. What has been frustrating is losing back to back post season games, last season's loss to Clemson was harder to swallow than the loss to Bama in BCSNCG(actually we have 3 losses in the post season under Miles)...the last time LSU lost back to back post season games was back in the 90's I believe? That's one thing that may end up coming back to bite Miles in the backside, keep losing in the post season,I don't think that is going to go over well with the fans much longer, win in the regular season and then turn around and lose in the post season,JMO.

quote:Then you hadn't been paying attention. He had perennial doormat OSU doing things OSU hadn't done before, including beating the Sooners. No he wasn't the biggest name in college ball 9 years ago, but he was a rising star and had some reasonably good credentials. Considering how Saban dropped LSU at the last minute, like yesterday's wet newspaper, I'd say we got the right man for the job. I'd also say he was mostly up to the job. I'd also say I've been pretty critical of him when he's done bonehead things (long list). But he's starting his 9th year at LSU and he's kept our Tigers at or near the top for most of those seasons. And in spite of my past criticisms, I'm really glad CLM's an LSU man. He hangs tough in the face of friendly fire.

4 of the top 5 best LSU offenses are from a miles coaches team.

Because LSU doesn't get the preferential treatment that Bama does.

How does any LSU fan not like Miles?
He does not act like his shite doesn't smell, he climbs down the outside of 25 story buildings, he makes TV clips with bikers shorts pulled up high, he goes to hospitals to cheer up kids, and he is the most successful coach in LSU history and one of the top 3-5 most successful coaching today. .
What in the hell is there not to like?

quote:Yes. Plus he's endured 8 seasons of constant criticism from parts of the fanbase (myself included) and stuck with LSU anyway. That earns him some major respect points, IMO. And in spite of quirks and coaching questions, I'm glad he's with us and not against us. I hope CLM finishes out his career as a Tiger. LSU has done far worse than Coach Miles, and never better for this long a stretch.

i don't even know what to say that. it's like you're trying to win a bet on who can say the most off base, outlandish thing.
that clemson game meant very little. bc this team's goal is to win championships (SEC and NC's) the season was over once we didn't make it to ATL. add that to being screwed over in the bowl slotting and what was LSU playing for?
worse than 1/9? wow.

The funny thing is, I'm already starting to hear grumblings about Coach Cam. The nay sayers are already starting to poke their heads out. I can't wait for tomorrow so they can shut the hell up. But I'm sure even if we win by 50 points they will still find something to complain about.

amazing how you still think that miles doesn't control his offenses. have you listened to any of the shows on tv or radio lately? all I hear is how Miles needs to open up the offense. The question is always if Miles will finally let his coordinator take full control. how the hell can you be ranked 12 in the nation when you have the players returning on offense lsu has. The reason is most people have no confidence in a Les Miles controlled offense the past 5 years. Everyone know miles doesn't touch the defense because he is an offensive guy and has one of the best DCs in the nation.Plus Chavis wouldn't be around if he didnt have complete control. Miles for whatever reason has never put full trust in any of his quarterbacks and that is why you see the formations you see every game. Jumbo front and Iformation.

I don't really care for Les, but I would put him in the top 5, most probably at #2. Liking him, or his coaching style is irrelevant, only wins matter to me.

The Tigers avg over 30 ppg in openers under Miles. Any true change to offensive philosophy will be seen when the Tigers are in a close SEC battle, where, at times in the past, our O typical got ultra conservative.
Another interesting thing to look for will be what formations, check downs, plays etc will be called in the drives succeeding a Mett INT.

like it or not les Miles is the best college coach in the country ,I do believe this year he's going to get us an other national championship and if the fans would get aboard there is no telling how many national championships we can have! we would have had several more if the fans wouldn't have recruited against coach
miles !when you call yourself a LSU fan and then you bash the program and yes when you bash the head coach you bash the program you're also bashing our recruiting
It does not speak well of our intelligence! you people need to get life,LSU had two more coaches who was not perfect Dale Brown and Charlie Mac Louisiana fans got rid of them how did that work out ?

SHUT UP!!! You don't know what you are talking about. Stop talking out of your arse. You obviously don't know how to interpret what they are saying. When they are saying that they hope miles opens up his offense, they are talking about overall strategy. It's the exact same as when they talk about his defense. HE DOES NOT CALL THE INDIVIDUAL PLAYS ON OFFENSE OR DEFENSE!!! I don't know how more clearly I can say it. Why does it seem like I've already covered this?.....O BECAUSE I HAVE!!! Pay attention.
