Exactly. He's failed to produce results to the level of the talent 40% of the time. Even in 2007 with the most talented team in the country he managed to drop two games to unranked teams. We overlook this because 2007 was such a bizarre year and we went to the NC game with those two loses. But it was not a great coaching year for Les.

The 2010 commitment list is impressive
4 or 5 SEC teams will do better than us. We're losing ground.

Don't forget about how awesome the 09 class was....we are just getting warmed up....most of them red-shirted...
Let's hope the coaches learn how to use them. Our best 2009 recruit wasted a year of eligibility.

As a fan, you are caught in the ranking trap!
Use reason, be happy!
talent isn't our problem, and won't be in the near future

Not coaching the talent we have now will lead to less talent in the future.

The infusion of talent is always encouraging. Could be said the raw talent kept LSU from having losing records this year and last.

Potential is what every kid that comes here has. It is up to the coaching staff to "coach" up that potential. If this staff could get through their thick skulls to play the most talented player at his particular position instead of "rewarding" seniority, this would help them tremendously. In this conference, to win a title, a aggressive defense is a must. Yes Crowton and the offense is a big problem, but if any team has a defense that gives up less than 14 ppg, then you don't have to rely so much on your offense.

Top ranked recruiting classes won't get it done for this coaching staff. We ALWAYS sign great classes, but this staff doesn't know what to do with them.
How the hell did they win a NC then?

Agreed. We've resorted to relying on a bunch of kids who haven't even signed to "rebuild" the program?
My how the mighty have fallen.
SECCG or highway for LM next year.

Geez this post is laughable. Crowton's philosophy is whacked. ex: let's run the option a few time's and say we make a first down or so. Then let's run it again and kill our drive because we get a five or six yard LOSS!!!!!!!
Substitute the option with a qb run that does the same thing.
or a wr screen or whatever that is they do. ( i actually like that play sometimes though, just not with all the other side to side plays we do)
Basically, his philosopy stinks, don't forget that we havn't even used our tight end this year and our wr's are supposed to be great at catching the ball not blocking for the option.
Top all that off with our running plays that take all day to get going.... uggh i've pulled all my hair out........ i've lost it.

It's always nice to be on top, and when you get to the top, there is only one direction one can go.... which LSU fans are still learning to cope with this nature of life upon resting at the mountain top. It felt good, real good to taste the top of CFB..We all want to taste it again and again...that's fanhood
#1 or #7 ranked recruiting classes are pretty darn close.. Unless the #1 class is just far away better than everyone else's.. I like UF's DL class this year...real real real good. Still all potential..right?
It's all based on potential, hype, and what a player makes of his opportunities when they actually get to school. No question, top classes are usually followed with top finishes...so that is where my excitement is being focused. Got to have the players...then you have to coach them up...Yes, yes, the big topic
My entire point of the dog gone post was that if the program was going in the poop-er, our recruiting efforts (rankings) would reflect this direction. I see just the apposite relative to the probable future...in spite of our ugly performances...
Kids love LSU...Les Miles is a very likable coach..Players love him...so...keep that in mind. Am I concerned? heck yeah! But we have to have faith in our coach...because the program is in his hands, therefore all we can do is support the coaches and players, the program.
Everyone knows the problems on offense, everyone knows it has to get fixed...No one wants it to be fixed faster than Les Miles. Gary Crowton doesn't wake up and want to fail next year either.
It's real easy to be negative, OK...Would it make you feel better if Miles just spewed what many of us are saying on the rant? would that help the program? Would it make you feel better or worse?... Just so you would know that Les understands the problems? How about Obama doing the same thing? I am pretty sure they vent to someone privately, but publicly they can never vent the full truth of their feelings...they have to be above that..thick skinned .
LSU will be very very good the next 2-3 years..Why not enjoy that reality?
My Penn State buddy came up to me after church today and said that "if that bowl game were on good turf or in a dome, "LSU would have thumped his football team".
The guy is a big time PSU homer...so...just let it all go people...LSU is a very good team...just unable to hit on all cylinders for many reasons
Crowton is staying...i wanted a change too, but we aren't getting a change, and deep down we all know Gary can coach an offense...but this is it..He has to come through and be the wizard again..
I am trying to remember the facts, and not just type out a bunch of frustration and emotion... the guy is not an idiot, he hasn't forgotten how to coach..a lot things factor into to why the offense struggled. But he is responsible, yes..
I just ask my fellow Tiger fans to be more positive about things.. Repent! Whatever is going to happen is going to happen...It's out of our control...It's just a game we all love...
We need to find a way to enjoy LSU football again, and stop worrying and filling our minds with doom and gloom...
