i gotta agree with drizz on this one.
I know that's difficult for you.

I don't get what Florida's situation has to do with LSU's regardless of what one thinks about LSU's situation. Florida had a very successful year - even though they wanted another NC - and have 9 months before having to face next season just like everyone else.

he's simply pointing out that the original poster used the fact that LSU is not in some reporters' pre-season top 25 as evidence that the program is going downhill. Since the guy has FL as #15 in the same pre-season ranking, if the same standard is applied, they're going downhill as well.

Calling people names and you don't even know what the discussion is about. . If you don't call going from winning the NC last year to losing to the team you beat to get there, and slipping to #15 in next year's poll, and having your head coach doing a Beatles' Revolution (out/in), as going down hill, THEN GET OFF LES' BACK!

slipping to #15 in next year's poll
It's January 9th. The season ended 2 days ago. UF was 13-1 (8-0) and finished #3. No one knows what happens with Meyer.

To use Florida as an excuse to support Miles is an incredibly dumb argument.

Why? They lost to bama with a Heisman QB when bama had a newbie QB. FL beat them last year. That's slippage right there. If they have the experienced All-Americans on the bench that the NEGATIGERS expect Les to have in case anybody graduates/gets injured/gets tossed, they should be ranked #1 or #2 next year, not #15. And, their coach is in limbo. No matter the reason, that could definitely be going down hill.

Meyers will coach the gaytors next year and hopefully Les can come up with a good excuse why he loses to Urban for the third year in a row.

You have to wonder if the Florida fans sites are going crazy over the San Jose disrespect like some of us are.

He said who in their right mind thinks we are headed in the right direction. You obviously think we're headed the wrong way if you're depending on Miles to "turn us around".
quote:

i think we will be chalenging for the west title and the sec title soon.

Impossible. Les Miles will never win another division, conference or national championship at LSU, nor will he ever come close (except in his own mind where 9-4 and outside the top 15 is "close" to winning the NC--what a moron). Les Miles will never coach in another BCS bowl for LSU. Les Miles will never again beat Florida or Alabama while coaching at LSU.

The funny thing is that well over 95% of the fan base knows all of the above to be true, but a sizable minority are still too stubborn to admit it.

If you asked every LSU fan one question, and their lives depended on answering it correctly, and the question were:

Which of the following statements is true:

A. Les Miles will turn the LSU program around and win more championships in the future, or

B. Les Miles will not turn things around, the LSU program will continue to deteriorate, and he will be fired in a few years?

How many, with their lives hanging in the balance if they're wrong, would really answer "A"?

I bet not even 1%.

Honestly, we were 1 field goal in a sloppy field away from finishing in the top 10. Was there drop off at some positions this year? Yes. But I think overall we got better as a team.

lsu has had a lot of fans...some old some young that has waited years for us to be thought of as an elite team. Its not the losing one or two games a year that hurts. Its the fact we have to struggle to beat bad teams,la tech or tulane.Teams like that should be easy and give us a chance to let us try another qb in a game.We hate it when we go out and lay an egg in front of the football nation or our coach talks about how we didnt win the back half of a game. who in the hell has ever said they won the first half , but lost the back half? Les says he isnt worried about the fans saying things, but without fans he would have to find a job elswhere.
At least tell us he will fix what went wrong ( i wonder if he even knows what went wrong or why he lost some games )Over the last couple of weeks i have heard several teams playing rookie qbs and the teams didnt even fall apart

look at it this way...we peaked in '07 with our second natcham of the decade. we have to part ways with a heisman calibre qb just before spring practice in '08 and what could have been a simply awesome offensive team capable of beating anyone on the schedule becomes a catastrophe with ivy league and not ready for prime time talent. we revamp the defense in '09 and become solid there just in time to watch our oline and soph qb fall flat on their faces, yet still win 9 with two close losses to two #1 teams. we lose by 2 to PSU on a field that actually made the game even more meaningless than it was when it was scheduled and, basically, hit rock bottom. we are now in the process of turning a new page with great young coaches, fresh faces, new resolve and an emerging recruiting coup for '11 when Louisiana will have it's strongest graduating class in 5yrs. we will, with a little early help from the football gods, be ranked in the top ten by game four and if that happens...watch the frick out.
