If we stick with Leavitt, we need more designed runs for him

Coaches tried to force him into the pass game in the first half. Let him run the option / design qb runs. Guy has looked rattled in all 1st half’s we’ve played when passing.
Will make Dlines not aggressively shoot ip the field as well
Not sure why not, let the kid loose and run him like Bama did with Milroe.

Agreed. Turn into a run 80% of the time team if we have to. The designed runs for Leavitt were 5 yards a pop in the second half. The breakdown plays where he kept trying to cut back against the grain were the ones that went for no gain or 1 yard

I wish we would’ve started the game using Dilin Jones more. You could see it in Leavitt’s eyes he was rattled before the first snap. Give him a few plays to try and get settled first. He undoubtedly played like crap, but he walked into one of the most hostile environments you’ll see this year in his first SEC game. I’ve seen better QBs shite the bed at Tiger Stadium before, so I’ll cut him some slack for now.

Agreed, I was saying this before last night. I think designed runs and let him get some open field jukes and get popped will get him to loosen up. I think the offense will improve as the season goes, Lane said as much even in the preseason. We know we can run the ball, and have good coaching.
