However, some folks think different. Also, being a part of the Alumni is different from graduating from a University.

Say it.

I graduated from LSU, and I am member of the LSU alumni association.

Okay, Edge, you just lost all credibility with that one. The ball was NOT well thrown. It is plain as day - watch the video that I linked for you. Early was WIDE open and had to come back for an underthrown ball that got tipped BECAUSE it was underthrown. If JR had hit Early in stride, it would have been a TD and we win.

What made me think of this was watching the clip of Rohan from the Tennessee game in 2000. His touch was incredible. I just think that he would have made that play.

Overall, I think that JR was a more talented QB than Rohan. But, with the talent that we had at the receiver positions in 2006 and the arm and touch that Rohan had, I think that our offense would have been more productive under Rohan.

And, believe it or not, I'm not trying to run down JR. I liked him a lot and I pull for him now.

If I ever post something along the lines of "Please, Kendall Cleveland was 10 times better of a running back than Billy Cannon. Cannon just had better talent around him" I'd expect to get made fun of copiously. Accept it, you said something so monumentally stupid that us true "tiger fans" couldn't help but make you aware of your stupidity.

Wow! You believed me? I told you that I was messing with you two yahoos, just because you belittled the author of this post. Learn to grow up! Don't take things so seriously and don't be so naive about the subject.

Watch the replay from the endzone cam, Early NEVER slows up his route to wait on the ball and doesn't go back for it.

I disagree with you on that one. I just watched it about 10 times. He starts jumping at the 5 and comes down around the 4. He basically stops by jumping for the ball. If the ball had been placed into the end zone, Early would have just had to keep running straight to get it.

But, again, my purpose in this thread was really NOT to bash JR. My purpose was just to remember Rohan Davey and throw a little praise his way. JR was a great QB for us who led us to a couple of great seasons and some great wins. I've got nothing but respect for him.

There were just things about Rohan's game that I really appreciated and I think that he would have made a few more plays for us in that game. But, like I said, I think that the way that JR played the last half of 2006, he would have made more plays for us as well. I was just speculating.

Sorry, Early never had to come back for that ball. Watch the endzone clip. Doucet NEVER breaks stride and certainly never comes back for it. You may have an argument that JR could have led Doucet more so as to avoid defenders, but you can't say he underthrew the ball that hit Doucet perfectly in stride.

Alatiger, I give them both props. A true fan admires both qualities in each quarterback.

Wait, now you are giving JaMarcus props? A few posts back you were saying how Russell will be a huge bust in the NFL and how any QB could have won w/ the talent he had around him at LSU.

Alatiger, I'm just playing around with these ya-hoos. The only reason I started picking on them in the first place is because they started belittling people just because you gave them your honest opinion. Real LSU fans don't belittle each other. Real LSU fans don't support just the players, it is the whole team concept

I told you I was messing with both of you since you belittled the author on this topic. Read it!

You're right. He didn't come back for it in the sense of coming back up field. But, instead of continuing to run into the end zone, he begins to turn at an angle around the 7 yard line and then keeps at a hard left angle until he ends up at the 3. That is what I meant by coming back for it - just the sense that he turned before he got to the end zone to adjust to the ball, that I feel was underthrown.

It really doesn't matter. You asked me to give an example of a poorly thrown ball by JR in that game and I gave you one. I think that Rohan would have led him, but who knows? Rohan might have thrown an INT or slipped and fallen down. What was meant to just be some praise thrown a players way turned into something very different. That was not my intent.

Well how can this topic not be intended to slam Russell when your position is, "if Rohan, not Russell, quarterbacks us in 2006, we win the title." This thread is essentially blaming Russell for not winning the title that year, and thats complete bullshite.

If I started a topic saying "If saban was the coach, does LSU win the title in 06?....I think so", would that not be a direct slam on Les Miles. If you really wanted to simply praise Rohan, you could have done it without putting down Russell, which is what you did.
