At this point, with Bama still in championship contention, there is no scenario where an LSU fan should "hope for an Alabama win".

I don't care how anything looks except LSU. I have never chanted SEC. The only time I cheer for other SEC teams is when the win helps us or in the bowl games when we are all up against the rest of the world and season standings are set in stone.
Even then, I pull against Alabama.

LSU needs to beat Alabama period. Alabama, with all those #1 recruiting class year after year is the team to beat in college football until they no longer have #1 recruiting class for a few years.
