...will he go down as one of the most underused/misused backs in LSU history, at least relative to the expectations people had of him when he was signed?

IMHO Trindon is more "unused" than KW.

Trindon is a gimmick player though; KW was the real deal from his recruitment til this year. I think he gets his game back and leads the team in yards next year.

both KW and TH are HIGHLY underused, KW proved it in the VT game in 07 that he has game breaking abilities, and so is TH.

Makes me sick to say this, but Meyer (I think it was him) was right when saying that UF uses its talent better than anyone. b/c LSU has those type of players that UF has, we just don't use them enough.

IMO R. Randle would get some playing time as a fresh. if he came to LSU, but it would be VERY limitted. TT was supposed to be the next Randy Moss, and this coming season he will be a JR. with what to show?????

I think KW needs to regain his confidence, IMO he is the most talented back we have.

Keiland knows he had a horrible spring last season, and he WILL work to improve, and he WILL get a fair share of carries in 09.

Next year is going to be hard losing Keiland Chuck and Trindon, so I hope Crowton uses them to the max.

see, thats the problem, these guys are all SR.s this coming season, and the amount of playing time they have received (except for Scott this yr) makes it feel that they have only been here for 2 yrs instead of 3.

I know only 1 guy can carry the ball, but TH and KW are special players.

FWIW, he averaged less than Scott's 7.2 YPC & Trindon's 6.9 YPC in 2007.

FWIW, he averaged 5.0 YPC in 2008, behind 1,000 yard Rusher - Charles Scott's 5.4 YPC.

Baton Rouge Advocate Peach Bowl article:

quote:

Holliday ready

LSU return specialist/offensive speedster Trindon Holliday has been slowed by an ankle injury through the season, but said he feels better.
“The ankle’s been fine,” Holliday said. “I’ll be ready to go. … It’s the best it’s been since I re-aggravated it in practice a couple months ago. So I think I’m ready to go.”

Makes me sick some of the less intelligent fans don't know whan a player is injured & when they find out keep attempting to call out a Coaching staff for not playing the injured player.

I'm not so sure I agree that KW is underused. While he's got skills that neither Jake Hester or Charles Scott have (i.e. speed), he's never consistently shown himself to be a superior between-the-tackles runner like those two have.

KW seems to be much more boom or bust - great run if he gets some space, or a whole bunch of nothing if there's no hole. I prefer Charles Scott, who seems to get a few yards even when there's not a gaping hole for him to run through.

KW did show some signs this year of running better, but I have to agree with others (like the ypc comparison to Scott the last two years) that he's not our best back. That's clearly Scott last year.
