Since you're a Marine I'll try to keep it simple:
The 5 for 5 Rule was announced the day after the ending of the 2026 athletic year. Meaning Class of 22 Sr are no longer student athletes in the NCAA organization on the day it was announced.
The rule specifically states all Class of 22 Sr are not eligible to return.
The whole narrative that has taken its own life here about "Retroactive getting another year" or "had no other choice to go pro" is a complete farce.
The rule didn't retroactively give any athlete regardless of sport or pro status an extra year back. The only ones back are the ones that sued and received an injunction.
