No I just think he was more of a game manager than a game changer tonight.
Isn't that the point? We shouldn't have to rely on a 19-year-old, still-wet-behind-the-ears QB to win games with all the offensive talent we have.

Because there seems to be a lot of fans that are more about being your so-called individual fans of players than being a fan of a team like LSU. Furthermore, most of these fans are huge fans of Lee representing the LSU football team. Just because JJ didn't throw a pick six and decided to make a comeback to win a game doesn't mean the kid isn't special. He managed the game very well and it was also only the 1st game of the season. I believe this Washington team is better than what we expected. Also, many people forget we were in a lot of games until Lee threw many interceptions last year. All the talk about the defense last year was kind of unfair. You can have the best defense in the nation, but if your offense doesn't move the chains, the defense will eventually wear down. I thought JJ had a pretty good performance and look forward to watching him next week.

Not in sync to start. Ciron ate his lunch after that false start. got happy feet, a lot

Believe it or not, I was more impressed with JJ this game than in the bowl game.
Why?
Decisions, decisions, decisions. Its what he DOESNT do with the ball that I love and thats not force it or turn it over.
He's getting smarter, more patient and, if possible, more protective of the football. The guy simply wont throw it if its not there.
I like his movements in and out of the pocket. No it wasnt a 300 yd 5td explosion, but I saw a qb capable of winning a lot of games and yes, championships.

JJ will handle this offense well.
His improvements will make him a very impressive QB in the future.

Ok that's fine. I'm not saying he SUCKS. If you're going to rely on the offensive talent around him though then they get the kudos till he learns the position better

I think his performance was a "C"
Jeez, ya'll are a tough crowd...I'd say a B or Bminus...he managed the game well, didn't turn the ball over in a hostile environment, took several hard hits and popped right up. Also, looked very confident in the pocket, which is a huge improvement from JL last year.

B+
he did everything he was asked to do and had a very shitty Oline performance...it was 2500 miles away in a hostile arse stadium...he will be a complete stud

So what could he have done better?

but nothing spectacular.
Best thing he did tonight was he didnt have TO.
I'd consider that fairly spectacular in comparison with the bs we saw for much of last year.

From what I saw, control on the line of scrimmage on offense, pass pressure on 3rd and long with secondary sitting in zone coverage is what we lacked.

He showed good poise for a young qb, made plays when he had to and protected the ball. He was a little off on some of his passes but hey he did pretty good. B

he didnt do anything impressive. like someone said in another thread, we had a pretty huge wr/db advantage and JJ didnt do anything with it. i wasnt impressed at all, but i wasnt disappointed.
