make a case for SMU....seriously? You think beating one team with a winning record at 7-5 makes them worthy..
This was the same case last week and the committee had SMU ranked higher. What changed in the past few days? If that’s the case then they’re just saying their weekly ranking are complete BS and have no meaning whatsoever.

Not one single penalty was called on Clemson

I understand the paranoia but I think it sets a terrible precedence if you leave a team out like SMU in this scenario
Every season the committee will have to decide to take a team with a better record that plays in a weaker conference and way weaker schedule or take the team most likely that has better players and plays in a strong conference that plays stronger teams
The SEC possibly may change to a 6 or 7 game SEC schedule and get more teams in the playoffs due to schedule, the SEC teams can choose to play weaker out of conference teams
or
Maybe there should be a limit to 2 teams from any conference that can participate in the final 12 CFP
Rewarding the regular season per conference and not the perceived best team
Either way is this the precedence you want college football to be
Your not going to make every fan base happy with picking bubble teams

SMU beat Louisville (22 at time) and Pitt (18) so they have two wins on top 25

But the committee is in the TV networks pockets so won't be surprised if they go with the Gumps.
At this point I wonder if people would be more inclined to tune in to see a team like SMU instead of bama who’s been in it every single year just about

New AP poll has Alabama remaining at #11 while SMU drops to #12 and Clemson climbs up to #13.

Exactly right. Alabama is going to be very disappointed when the playoff teams are announced...

bama, USCe, ole piss.... I'd ranked those as 2, 3, 1.
