re: I think it's safe to say. The coaching staff has done a great job.

Hey, it’s been a great year so far. I have really enjoyed it. I’ll sure give O credit for Burrow and Tracy.
But these Cheerios who are gloating like this season is a done deal and O has “arrived” amuse me.
Have we forgotten 2015? We had Fournette and Guice, were 7-0, and that commercial with the NC trophy in the tiger eye was playing over and over again.
But some of us could see the vulnerabilities of that team and Miles’s coaching and sure enough, we got exposed in the meat of the schedule and lost three straight by double digits.
O is on the right track. Let’s not forget, he was hired to EXCEED Miles.
He is in his third year. He needs to go 10-2 or better or his arse needs to be gone.
We fired Miles because 9-3 or less wasn’t good enough—NOT because 9-3 or 8-4 is fine with a coach who “tawks lak us.”
So carry on. So far so good.
But let’s see where we are after the bowl game.

We didnt take it easy on selu and tech for recruiting reasons. I do think we were working on lineups, development, and getting better at our weaknesses in general.

Miles wasn't fired because he went 9-3 or 8-4, Miles was fired because of his stubbornness to change with the times. Had he change the offense and run something modern to keep up with the times, he would have been still coaching.
Watching Miles teams play the last 3 years, was like going to the dentist and getting your teeth pulled, it hurt like hell to watch and by the end to the game you were completely drained.

I don't see how the negas can be nega anymore.
I don’t think anyone should be negative, but just think how radically the whole situation changes if we lose to Florida. All of a sudden we’re looking like a 3,4 or 5 loss team.
I don’t think we will lose to Florida, though.

there are a couple of differences that i see between '18 and '15.
first, the offense seems to be improving each week. there were lots of new faces and each week, they seem to click a little better. 2015 - wysiwyg. that was it. it wasn't ever going to change.
second, while i don't think ens is a great oco or playcaller, i do think this staff does a good job of preparing for specific opponents. they seem to be doing an adequate job of finding openings in the next team's defense and trying to go there. i just don't think miles did a good job of this later on. he had an identity, that's what the offense was going to do, it didn't matter who the opponent was and miles was unapologetic about it. the a&m press conference is proof. he had basically just been fired and said the offense didn't need to be changed.
quote:no he wasn't. he was a fall back because jimbo and herman fell through
he was hired to EXCEED Miles
quote:while i personally might agree with you, what you and i think is not on the ad's radar so the statement is mostly pointless
He needs to go 10-2 or better or his arse needs to be gone
quote:wrong again. miles was fired because the program was slipping in more than one way and he was stubborn about it.
We fired Miles because 9-3 or less wasn’t good enough
and why do people keep harping on griese? he had plenty of compliments. said lsu's receivers were playing better than ole miss' 2 first round projections. he complimented the gameplan. he said o was doing a good job. he really liked the rb's. had good things to say about burrow. raved about the defense and aranda.
