IF Saban retired tomorrow, the only ones who would miss him are Alabama fans that endure him. He can be a good coach and still be an ahole. Which he is.

Because the sec title is the only title you WIN your way into. Every single sec coach and player has 100% control over winning the sec title.when the seccg is over there are no analyst discussing if the two teams deserved to be there. There is no eyeball test. There is no human bias. Its the one title that ISNT subjective. You cant back your way into an sec title.

Honestly I like you as a poster and pretty much agree with most things that you post, but I just differ with you in that I don't wish failure on State and Bama. The SEC being competitive is what makes us jump to the head of the line in the rankings. Also I don't have blind hate for Saban and blind homer love for Miles. Not saying you are a blind homer, because you are not but they are definitely on this board.

If there's one thing you can't really fault CLM on is his recruiting. From how he handles parents to the recruiting team he's surrounded himself with, to the organization of it all (without serious violations I might add) that is indeed a fairly well oiled machine right there. But you have seemed to have found a negative or two out of 25-27 "hits" a year to extrapolate into something he's completely inept at.
I mean, all those players that compliment Miles, his staff, and LSU in general during the process (and after leaving) must all be part of one rather large conspiracy.

Thats why all i care about is the sec title. Before the season starts, it doesnt matter where or if youre ranked , everyone has the same set criteria on making the seccg. The bcs/ playoff is the most subjective title in all of American sports. Whats really sad is you have so called experts saying put the 4 "BEST" teams in when BEST is subjective as hell. When teams dont play each other and have totally different schedules ,their is no way to determine which team is better. If you call a team better because they have more projected NFL talent then why even play the games and just decide which teams have the most talent and out them in a playoff. Its mind blowing that two team can have the same record and play head to head and the loser not getting penalized at all because they are perceived as better. How ignorant is it to pick playoff teams using an EYEBALL test. Who would win the eyeball test in 2008? Bama or utah? Who would win the eyeball test in 2007? Lsu or kentucky?

I try not to stay Bamacessed, but admittedly, it's hard to do. I have to say, I wouldn't mind seeing Alabama get beat in a playoff game by State. Just so they know how that feels, if that makes any sense.
State will need to step up though. They gotta do work now to make that so much as an option.
Damn, how good is the west.....LSU's pretty much the scourge, and they beat a big 10 champ game contender, and a team that beat number 1 and is giving number 4 all they want - and may beat them.
