I previously said, after Chavis left, that i wanted someone energetic and on the field. However after reading about Steele the last few days i think he might do better in the box.

I think he was on the field while in Clemson ....Can anyone confirm? Is that where he coached from on game days? Also his first year at Clemson was pretty decent but the drop off after that no good at all

Also O has all the energy the D needs on the sideline.

You don't want his fainting goat act on the sidelines when all the marbles are on the line?

correct

But seriously it may help him. Chavis seems to prefer it

O or Raymond or Brick can handle the sideline duties.

With a coach like Coach O on the sidelines Steele may be in the press box. Coach O will breath life into the team on the sideline. We shall see what happens.

O has enough energy for the defense, offense, special teams, coaching staff, and the entirety of the crowd. He'll have opposing fans wanting to rip their shirts off and run through a wall before all is said and done.

One thing I like about Saban, he has both of his coordinators coaching from the sidelines. Someone else is up in the coaches' box giving them the info they need to do their job.

Particularly on offense, think about it. Play comes out of the box, goes to the HC and one of the assistants who wait to see if HC is going to over-ride or not, then play goes from sidelines to field. Once everyone is lined up, the same shite happens on the check-off, and the QB is losing time that he needs because he is waiting for instructions. Have the coordinators on the sidelines calling, and things move a bit faster. Also, coordinators can be more effective in their coaching from the sidelines than over a set of headphones from the box.

The other thing i read on TD somewhere was that during that WVU game he started calling D's that were not even in the book.....they were from some other time period in his coaching career. Was this a stroke or TIA?

I hoping the rest of the staff can collaborate on the D. I hope its not too complicated.

I just thought the box may help him

While I understand the comments of how it may be better for his Personal Wellbeing to be up in the box;

I too want him on the sidelines with O and the D. If he can't handle the sideline with full faculties he needs to move along.

I've always heard that coordinators can often get a better feel for the game from the box. I don't really have an opinion on it. I see benefits and drawbacks to both.

No thats not it

I just figured, the clemson bowl game was such a debacle (intact so was that whole season) That he may actually benefit from being in the box.

Just for the sake of changing it up

I hear what you are saying but the issue for me is "Can the players get a feel for their Coach, during the game, when "he" is up in the box"

I say no and sometimes when things are really difficult and challenging, I need a leader who leads from the front, then I am willing to do whatever it takes to follow him into battle.
