DISCIPLINE....and LEADERSHIP
Forget that this is football, think of it as an organization.
For about 4 years now, I have watched our team make dumb, mental mistakes over and over.
ans YES, I know, we won a National Championship and are undefeated so far, but that does not make us perfect, nor does it excuse the lack of discipline.....
By discipline, I do not mean YELLING, PUNISHING, etc..what you would normally think of DISCIPLINE. I am talking about "professional discipline"
....demanding consistent performance at practice and game time, as well as, personal accountability.
Staying focus, staying on target, doing the small things well and consistently until they become "a part of the psychic"
I think Miles is a very nice human being, with character and a good heart, but he was hired to run a team. If being a nice person is the only attribute, Mother Theresa would have won the Super Bowl..it is about doing the small things right...a lot of them-a lot of times...that would then translate in the BIG things being done right.
Practice does not make perfect-Perfect practice makes perfect.
You will perform in the way that you repeatedly practice.
If we are relaxed in practice and allow a somewhat relaxed attitude, THAT will show up in a game. You can not practice one way and play another.
I do not know with WHOM does the fault actually lie, but it flows upward to the head coach. It is the head coach that MUST insist on the small details being done (practiced and performed) correctly. There is no room for "not wanting to hurt anyone's feeling.
Now, I do not want to mention the individual problems, they have been brought out over and over and they are obvious...
IMO they are the results of a lack of focus and discipline.
I hope Miles gets a hold of this and MANDATES performance from his players and coaches. It would not be good for LSU to have to change the head coach, now or in the near future.
LEADERSHIP...
we need to develop some players or motivate some players into that role. We do not seem to have much, if any.

I know, but the truth must be told and sometimes hurt and the numbers only provide temporary refuge.
We can only live on the edge for so long.
Those who are old enough, smart enough to know how to run companies, or have run companies, will understand. Those who have not, will grab at statistical straws to justify their "being right"...after all,
THEY are better fans
THEY love LSU more, etc, etc, .
I have been supporting LSU, for a longer period of time than most people in the board have been alive.
