and to all the people who say.. it's only been one game.. so much season left.. well no shite. this guy is simply asking a what if. he even stated in the op that it is not likely..

so if one sec school is undefeated and another 1 has 1 loss. i definitely see it being realistic if everyone else has 1 loss.

on a side note- i cannot believe fsu is now ranked #5.. it's like they did that just to do oklahoma a favor.. but i'm not calling any one else over-rated bc i feel major college football is down all across the conferences..

plus if bama is that 1 loss school they always get more national respect and praise than they even deserve any ways. the masses over rate the hell out of them.

Bama is like 37-5 the last 3 seasons. What team over that span deserves more national respect and praise?

especially since it would mean that they won their conference.

OK, I thought it was the BCS points system, not winning your conference.... See Oklahoma 2003

Scenario 2011..... LSU beats up everyone as does Bama like 2003 Oklahoma did and both hailed as the best 2 teams. If they have a close game, it will happen because both will have tough strength of schedules, great records, and a close head to head with the winner being the creme of the crop for the whole College Football season. What will also help the voters keep the loser high is SEC and 5 straight. You would think they may pull the loser down too much in the polls to influence the computers, but they did not do that to OK.

this is how it would happen

Alabama 13-0

Oklahoma 10-2

Boise State 11-1 (loss to TCU)

LSU 11-1

Oregon 11-1.

Oregon would not get the nod over LSU for national title game. no way. so it would be LSU.

Say Alabama lost to LSU and LSU went to 13-0. Oregon still wouldn't get the nod over Bama because of Bama's schedule.

Of course I doubt Oklahoma loses 2 games so this is all moot. a 1-loss Oklahoma will get in over a matchup of 2 SEC teams.

exactly computers are a third of the polls. The only way people could "prevent" a rematch is by collectively pulling down the Bama-LSU loser far enough in both human polls so that they dont get to play against each other.

Remember Michigan/Ohio St. didn't happen because a 1-loss Florida was deemed to have a tougher schedule by the computers than Michigan. Also USC would have gotten in ahead of Florida AND Michigan if they did not lose to UCLA the last week of the season.
