That summer after the walk off he was playing with the U.S. Olympic Baseball Team. They came to Richmond VA where we live to play an exhibition game. We chatted for about 10 min before the game. Warren went to the same HS as my dad (Bolton) in Alexandria. I remember he said that he said a prayer right before the at bat - "Lord please help me hit this ball as far as i can". Morris had ZERO HRs that season & missed 22 games with a broken bone in his hand. There was some Q as to whether he would even be able to play in the post-season or not. Pretty amazing story.
