This has been beaten like a dead horse. I agree it is apples to oranges but do you ever hear people saying Saban needs a solid coordinator to make things happen? No! Miles needs top flight coordinators or the 2008 defense happens. I am stuck on this and I am convinced of what I see. It is so simple yet true. It seems no matter who the OC or DC is for Saban they go get other coaching jobs.

We could go round and roung on this one. I accept Saban is not perfect. You cannot defend miles on this one. Look at the 08 LSU defense. My point is Saban can do more with LESS and miles needs qualifiers(top flight coordinators) to hang with the big dogs.

saban is a great coach, but please, he's not God.

Saban is a defensive mastermind....he's not the best offensive guy.

seems to be working ok to me.... I love Miles the recruiter but how much of that is just LSU attracting kids because of LSU.... Other than recruiting at a school that assists largely in recruiting the state itself. What is the strong suit of Les?

Wasn't Les an offensive coordinator, and an o-line coach? If so, he failed at both Monday.

And the last three years.

Just needs a oc with his own philosophy, not Miles's.

Look. I was as frustrated and irate as everyone else after Monday night, but sooner or later people need to calm down and re-gain proper perspective.

Miles is a nut and a weird guy, and it looks like there will always be a giant monkey wrench that comes out of nowhere with him at the helm, BUT... c'mon, he is still 2 out of the last 3 against Saban. November 5th DID HAPPEN.

Despite what happened last Monday, I'm still glad Saban isn't here anymore. That guy is a giant a-hole, and I wouldn't want him representing my alma mater. Remember his perpetual snarky attitude toward the press and the fans. Remember his lies. Remember his low class moves, like voting OSU 4th. Remember the tension and dark vibe that always followed him. Fuk Saban.

Right now, I'm hanging on to the gleeful fact that JJ is GONE. It's all I got for the moment.

Miles had a disastrous outing, in a huge game. The fans hurt. But keep perspective, Miles is a very good coach. Perfect? No, but neither is Saban.

Just about any major college in the country would give their "left one" to have Miles for a coach. He won 13 games this year with the toughest schedule in football, and the fans want to hang him. I'm sure glad Mike VI hasn't screwed up in any way, we'd need a new Mike.

Does MILES do this without Chavis? He cannot have Chavis forever

Saban could have done what happened this year without jim mcelwain in my opinion

You guys so down on Miles need to go to Wikipedia, search LSU to review their football records for the last 50 years.

MILES is the best coach we've EVER had! After saying that, I too didn't like the way JL was treated this year, and damn sure didn't like the outcome of Monday's game. But I like most of what Miles has done here at LSU. Except for this week, he's made LSU football more fun, more interesting, and more successful than it's ever been. Remember the 80's?

Yes Saban is an X's and O's guy, Miles and Stud called a poor game, their only one of the season. Miles and Saban are on the same level of program running though.

and the 90s? My first LSU game was 58-3 loss to Florida.

there was a stretch where he would never get in his trailer before the games, a select few thought we should return him.

Saban had plenty of talent. We running a 3-4 defense (Lou Tepper)when we needed a 4-3. We were ranked high(#5) just a year and half before Nicky got here.

Les Miles, 75-18 at LSU in case you forgot. 13-1 this season and probably gonna win at less 12 next year. Even Lord Saban has lose a game, can you believe that.
