I said he bought players. I said he cheated. I am glad I was wrong. At least I hope I am wrong.
Excited for the future of LSU Basketball.

There’s far worse things we have to worry about concerning our AD. He doesn’t have the best track record
frick Joe Alleva!!!!!
quote:
A forgotten chapter of the story is what happened to the Blue Devils' head coach at the time, Mike Pressler. The reigning National Coach of the Year, Pressler was the only person at Duke to lose his job as a result of the scandal that wasn't.
quote:
Three weeks into the scandal, Pressler reached a crossroads: stand by his players, or save himself and his career. Mike Pressler: I was actually advised early on to distance myself from them and at that time, I-- that was, like, blasphemy. You-- you're tellin' me that? We don't run. We don't quit, you know. That's not how we're made. You finish. You sign on, you finish what you start at all costs, you know. That's it. You finish it.
quote:
With the rape scandal at full boil here at Duke, Pressler was summoned to the office of then-athletic director Joe Alleva, where he was issued an ultimatum: resign immediately or risk being fired. So Pressler resigned, the sacrificial lamb needed to appease protestors and protect the school's gold-plated image.
frick Joe Alleva!!!!!

Keep the downvotes coming insecure babies!!!! Hahaha

quote:You are downvoted because you were wrong for jumping to conclusions against LSU, even if Wade was ultimately somehow found culpable. That is the part you don't get. Not blind loyalty as some suggest. But loyalty at least to the point of benefit-of-doubt. Is that too damn much to ask?

Considering the FKing-Alleva imbecility as well as that of posters like you Ree, LesterEarl and others, apparently benefit-of-doubt for your own folks is a bridge too far.

Oh I get. I was wrong apparently and came to admit my mistake. Do I still believe that he is guilty as sin, yes I do. Do I still want CWW as our coach, yes I do. I always have since he was hired and I am glad that he has been reinstated.
People have been convicted in the court of law and in the court of public opinion for less.
I had an opinion on a matter that apparently posters on here could not handle because it was not rainbows and butter flies.
As far as FKA and JA, frick them both. They should have never been hired.
Don't group me with those other posters because i shared a single opinion with them once. I am far from them in my thoughts on most things.
I hope this does not happen, but if by chance CWW is found culpable, I will not be beating my chest that I was right like most on here are now. I will be disappointed and ultimately not surprised. I pray this does not happen.
Good day!

Whether people have been "convicted for less" is not the point. The point is giving your own side the benefit of doubt.

Nothing is settled yet until the tapes are covered in the trial

And this is the part people have trouble comprehending. I got into a twitter argument with a dude who said Wade did this and that and I asked what rules did he break, I got no answer, just insults and name calling. But these people say WW cheated yet they cannot tell you what he did. If there was a smoking gun, I'd be the first to jump on the fire WW bandwagon, but there isn't. Nothing in the wiretap conversations actually convict him of wrongdoing, NOTHING. It's only assumptions and insinuations that he was talking about illegal things. Anyway, since WW has been reinstated that dude on twitter blocked me. LMAO, what a child!!! If there's anyone on here with a twitter account, go see jupo1182, he really hates LSU. LOL

The problem wasn’t what you believed to be true. The problem was that you simply don’t understand college basketball. This is a systemic issue that involves the top schools in the country all the way down to your lower level mid majors. Players, more importantly, handlers and families, are “taken care of.”
The administration chose to cave to the social media “mob mentality” in less than 24 hours. They robbed Coach Wade, the players, and the fan base of what could have been a special ending to a special season.
This suspension took place while we had to watch Auburn make a final four and Arizona secure a number one recruiting class. Bruce Pearl’s asst is going to jail and has still not met with auburn’s admin to discuss and Sean Miller is on tape discussing a 100k payment. You deserve the downvotes because you supported LSU holding itself to a different standard than the rest of the division 1 basketball programs.

Don't tell me what i do not understand. Its not how just college basketball works, its all of college athletics, right?
How do you know for certainty that we would advance as far or further with Wade than we did without Wade. You do not. You assumed that we would just as I assumed that he was guilty of offering money to J. Smart. You do not know me so do not assume what i know.

Because if you understood you wouldn’t have supported the suspension. I don’t know how far LSU would have made it with Wade. I said LSU robbed it’s coach, players, and fans of a CHANCE of a special conclusion to the season.
I do know that LSU is the ONLY school to suspend their coach in this matter. LSU is not and was never the subject of an FBI investigation. Now, he is reinstated. This could not have been handled any more poorly.
I still don’t understand what you are “eating crow” on. No evidence has changed. No new evidence has been brought about. If you supported a suspension in early March, why would you support a reinstatement now?

He has been cleared, that is why. He told everyone he did no wrong!. That is why. As I said, I only hope that is true. If not we will be in for a world of hurt if it ever comes out.
As far as supporting the suspension, I never said I supported it. I said he was guilty. Look at my posts on the matter, never once did i say I am glad that CWW was suspended, that i support JA/FKA for suspending him. I despise the leadership at LSU. You will see that in my posts.
Savvy?

quote:Again, this is about loyalty-related benefit-of-doubt rather than "how college basketball works." One should have his own side's back, at least until guilt, incapacity, or incompetence is proven. In Wade's case, Smart's reinstatement always raised doubt about any certainty of guilt on WW's part.
Don't tell me what i do not understand.
Having said that though, your mea culpa is laudable.
It is far more than will be done by others who've posted far worse.
Apologies from this end, because I should have included that caveat in my first response here.
It's a thread begun with good intentions and should be responded to accordingly.
