When I read this I thought it was going to be about the play of the team for 2-2/3 quarters. I can't even enjoy the fact that they came back to win because of the way they played to put them in that hole in the first place.

That's a great analogy. I really don't understand why others don't get it. It's not some abstract left-field concept or anything.

Some people wouldn't consider LSU the equivalent to a pet though. They'd say that LSU is more like watching a family member die that you can't turn your back on. And those people really, really, need help and/or a life with some achievement mixed in.

i can agree with that. hell, i went more for priority points than to see the game last night. I didn't have much else to do so i stayed, and the atmosphere was just weird so it was interesting being there.

You are exactly right. "Fans," true fans, have something seriously wrong with them. They support their players even when they are behind, even when they are playing poorly and even when they lose. However, they do get the satisfaction of knowing that when the team does do well that they were there, supporting their team throughout and can never be labeled anything other than a true fan. I grew up in New Orleans and suffered and continue to suffer at times through the very lean years that the Saints and LSU have experienced. True, there is something fundamentally wrong with anyone who sacrifices their own physical comfort, money, time and acid reflux for the benefit of others, but they also make the best people.

who the hell are you benefiting again?

you probably think second guessing the coaches and criticizing poor play voids your fan card too huh?

No, you have the right to do that, just do everyone a favor and do it from your couch.

I consider myself the most die hard LSU fan there is. I was sick to my stomach last night in the stands as I watched my beloved tigers lay an egg. I have not missed a home football game since 1992. I probably only left TS about 4 times before a game ended, and they all had to do with a combination of a blow out and weather.

I admit, I left this game as early as I have left any game... at halftime. It was so sickening that I couldn't take it. I remember sitting through the 90's and not seeing such a pathetic display of football. So to dog all fans equal is not fair... the crappy football and bitter weather, plus the high expectations is what caused most fans to leave.

At least it ended well.

Same here. maybe just add the fact that I couldn't take hearing the team get booed any longer.

Anyone else find it intresting that the ones bitching about people leaving ealry are the one who were not even at the game ?
